Chargepipe blew off
Today I blew off my stock chargepipe running stage 1.
I reconnected it back together again and it was running fine afterwards should I be worried about future engine problems? I'm planning to have a new chargepipe coming in soon. Current setup: BMS intake/ vrsf catless downpipe/ full exhaust

Replace it, it's a ticking time bomb. I bought one from VRSF ($200) but there are many options out there.

If it came off then it means the flange is cracked, likely on the bottom where you can't see it. I'd replace it ASAP. The FTP CP is an excellent choice. Fits like a glove on the throttle body and OEM intercooler.

I would just replace it ASAP. As it get's warmer it'll be more likely to break.
Mine cracked and broke the whole flange off when I gunned it getting on the highway in the Las Vegas heat. Was Stage 1 at 4PM on an exceptionally hot day, so a decent amount of extra pressure over stock. Blew the o-ring and wire lock into the mud pan too. Moved to the ER chargepipe and haven't looked back. |

I kept popping mine off running stock, doing lapping, whenever it was hot. Don't ruin a nice day because you didn't replace this. In fact even if your car was 100% stock I would recommend upgrading it if you ever drive it hard. Cheap for the peace of mind.

1000% of everyone should be upgrading these as soon as they purchase the car. I can't begin to tell you guys how many emails we get of people wanting charge pipes overnight all the time. They will fail, it's just a matter of time.

I've read several threads and am going to order soon. I'm confused as to what is the part to replace. My replacement goal is reliability.
First, second or both? And do I need to order the "C-clip" and O-Ring? http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/313 http://www.evolutionracewerks.com/node/278 |

It'll run like a dog without it, since the turbo's still spooling and sucking air across the sensor but it's not getting properly delivered to the motor. You're essentially running NA with major back pressure without it fully affixed.
