pure turbo 800 b58 reliable ?

I was looking for a M2 competition, but thought also about upgrading my m240i xdrive ( now i have 470ps ) strong enough... but also tempting to upgrade to pure turbo 800, i got a nice deal from Peter;

Pure 800 Upgrade Turbo (stock turbo needs to stay as core)
87Dorch st1 HPFP Upgrade
Install
ECU Tune 500whp/650wnm on 98 ron
XHP Gearbox tun

question is, i know the B58 is a strong engine, but does this upgrade not put too much strain on the motor and gearbox. i ask him to tune around 500whp ( i think this i safe , but not sure )

planned to drive 80.000 miles more

Don’t think anyone knows right now. For the gearbox etc keep the torque in check as the gearbox only “sees” torque and I wouldn’t limit hp but have a look on safe boost levels instead.

I suggest you check with PURE direct on what upgrades they recommend with this kit

^^

He spoke with Peter from Pure.

OP, I’m over 480 WHP on the stock turbo with a custom E40 tune from Paul Johnson, Dorch Stage 1 pump and xHP flash. I’m sure you’ll be fine up to around 550 wheel.

Sure 550whp and 700wnm is safe! 500whp on pump fuel should last you a long time!

Stephan Papadakis is supposedly running a B58 at 1000hp on the stock crank, rods, and head gasket.
With stock forged parts and a closed deck, I am excited to see what happens in the future with the B58. Between that and the stout ZF8 trans, I am SO happy to have a stock engine/powertrain combo that is beefy. I feel like that doesn't happen often these days.

How do you think the ZF8 will hold up to 700wnm?
