Diagram or "map" of fuses and locations?

Does anyone know if there is any other diagram or "map" of the location and function of each of the fuses in the front and rear fuse boxes? I know there is the little reference sheet and diagram stored in the rear fuse box, but it's pretty small, and just has fairly cryptic icons to indicate what each fuse is for. I can't imaging trying to reference that at night or in the rain. I've searched this forum, the owners manual, and online, but can't find anything for the 2 series.

Not looking for any fuse in particular, just something better than what is provided with the car. I even checked a shop service manual for the 1 Series, and it didn't have anything.

great question. I haven't seen anything.

Is the diagram on the back of the panel cover?

No, at least not on my car, and there is no cover on the rear fuse box.

if you research ISTA/D aka Rheingold. It is diagnostic software for BMW's, that also can be used to look at wiring connectors and schematics of the internal electrical systems.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping there was just a simple picture or diagram of the fuse box and a listing of what each fuse is for. Something a little more descriptive than what comes with the car. It's looking like that does not exist.

what your asking for does exist , it just doesn't exist In the place you want it to be. ISTA/D is the service program for your car. think of it as the software BMW uses at the dealership.

if you look in the right places, you might find it, or somebody that has it that can provide you with it.

I was hoping there was a diagram like this with words, hopefully in English, rather than the cryptic icons. Something like the attached, which I found on line by doing a search for "BMW fuse box diagram". I've found diagrams like this as well for other BMW models, but it seems like all the newer / later model cars only use icons, at least what is supplied with the car.

Just turn the car on and start pulling fuses and you'll figure out what they do. *Disclaimer... Don't do this.

When working on my car with a friend, he pulled a fuse for me and forgot to put it back. Later, I found out that it was for half of the rear tail lights. It was something strange like both reverse lights, the right tail light, but not the brake lights.

My issue was while hard wiring a radar detector using the "mirror tap" method found elsewhere in this forum, I blew a fuse, and the power to the Homelink and compass in the rear view mirror went out. I found icons that led me to the possible fuses, but had to pull and check three or four before I found the one that was blown, it turned out to be # 42. Going forward, I think I'll replace any fuses that do blow with the "Easyid" or "Smart Glow" type that have an LED indicator that light up when the fuse blows.

Pardon me if I'm missing something, but I hard wired a DR-650 dash cam from the front mounted fuse block, "map" located behind the glove box.. It showed both front and back fuse blocks. It was accurate with a few caveats.. It does not show options added to the car, but only shows base level trim. So if you have the HK audio or cold weather package, etc. the block diagram will be different.

My understanding is that there is no diagram that shows the vehicle with the different options.

But, with the base model map and understanding of your option packages, you should be able to pin check available circuits that will work with your application..

Thank you so much for figuring this out. I just had this same issue while doing the mirror tap, and was going to ask for the fuse number.

Any battery voltage issues with overnight parking?

Jerry -- I did exactly the same thing. I found your posting trying to find a better fuse map than the icons BMW provided.
Did you get it resolved? I haven't been able to find the right places to put the two mirror tap wires. I found another thread with detailed instructions (M235) but it doesn't seem to work on my M240. Very frustrating.
Thanks

Have not found anything yet. Someone else suggested the Rheingold (BMW service and repair manual) products and software, and I contacted them. Their product would have wiring diagrams that may provide the information, but it would cost about $130 for the suggested ISTA/D kit. What's interesting is that there are "plain English" diagrams of the fuse block for older models, but it seems like the current models all use icons. Oh well.

Rheingold (BMW service and repair manual) is free download if you know where to look.

Hi Bryan,

Would you be able to suggest a safe site for this? Have found reference to a couple of torrents but nervous about visiting these!

Thanks

So, there's no fuse diagram for the F22 available?

Sorry for the noob question, but where are the fuse boxes located?
