Pro clips are pretty nice too. I have one and I love it, it just doesn't mount where you want it

I use this and taped it onto the screen of my navi. Simple and sleek.
A question about the Neutron S: are the sides magnetized, or just the flat surface that faces out?

Both flat surfaces are magnetized. But I've never tried the sides. I assume its magnetized but probably not useable.

Well this sucks ... the rubber insert mat for the ashtray space is on backorder from Germany now -- at least according to the place I ordered it from.

I've got to assume that since it's an active OEM option in Europe that the supply will be replenished fairly quickly ...

Probably my favorite so far. The neuron is awesome but sounds like it doesn't hold up on tight turns. Which is important of course

I use a Kenu phone mount.

http://www.amazon.com/Kenu-Airframe-...&keywords=kenu

I travel on business and have used it in over a dozen different rental cars. I've yet to find a car it does not work in. The mount is solid and I can always find a good viewing angle.

I ordered mine online from Bridgewater BMW this week, got it in a few days. Just installed it a couple of hours ago.

That's where I ordered mine from, and who said it was backordered ... for all of one business day; they shipped today.

Cool. Give the ashtray a firm tug and it will all come out, lid included, it's all one unit.

I use the Koomus air vent smartphone mount and I've attached it to the cup holder insert that came with the car. Works great. I mirror my phone to my Idrive screen so having the phone down in the cup holder works better for me. I also jailbreak my phone so I can rotate my iPhone 6 home screen. Not a great pic. I'll try and take some better ones.

This 3D printed dock is a very clean option

I got this 3D-printed dock from shapeways.com for $20 (I belived it was on sale cause now is $30). My apple original lighting cable was long enough to go from the armrest to the ashtray. Just removed the USB plug from the car and plugged it directly to the lightning cable (so it will go down to the handbrake area and not out of the armrest). I wired it down on the left side of the central dashboard and then up to the ashtray. To go up to the ashtray I removed the knee pad to get cable from the side of the central console to the little hole that is underneath the ashtray. The only visible cable I have is from the ashtray to the actual dock but just ordered the rubber pad to make it less visible (I didn't want to drill my cup holder to get the cable in. Only the iPhones 5 or 6 will work with this setup but it is very stable.

So far this is the nicest implementation I've seen. I wonder if the 3D drawing file can be downloaded from somewhere so I could print one on a friend's printer.

Still not crazy about giving up a cup holder but I really really like this dock.

You have a year from your documented invention to get it patented. Just file for it and you have rights before they do. Downside, filing a patent can get pricey

Nice job; very clean. My plan is to use the hole in the bottom of the ashtray as well. However, if you implement the ashtray mat you will have to make a hole in it to keep your current routing; the mat has tabs that fit directly into those holes to keep it stable.

I've bought a spare fitting for the armrest section that holds the USB/Aux inputs (around $20); I'll be drilling into it when I install my dock and route my lightning cable. Stay tuned ... I get my car next week, and I'll likely be doing the install next weekend.

Well now that I have my car, I've realized two things:
1). The iPhone 6 Plus is too wide to work in the space where the ashtray is, even with the rubber mat (installed)
2). The possibility of a Snap-In Adapter becoming available for a 6 Plus (I have Enhanced USB) in Q2 is high; the phone fits in that space in the center armrest

Therefore, I won't be doing the iPhone mount mod I've been alluding to right now. Whenever I want to use an OBD app (I have OBD Fusion), I'll just use my Kenu Airframe+ vent mount for the phone.
