It's hard to confirm anything since the pricing for the 2015's hasn't been released yet. They wouldn't change the price for the 2014's.

I'm a former recording engineer and have a pretty good set of ears on me.

Tip 1: it's not how much "boom" you can hear down the street.
Tip 2: Mo speakers ≠ "better sound"
Tip 3: Surround can be fun but is not the same as "quality"

Clean sound with quality components is where it's at.

Most mfrs have crap stereos and even the "high-end" flavors offered are not much better. My wife has a Mark Levinson system in her Lexus (~$2000 extra) and it's horrible compared to the reasonable all-Alpine system in my 10 year old Accord. Alpine head, 5 ch amp, 4 mid/tweeter speakers, 12" sub enclosure.

2-well-balanced, high-quality 6" speakers in a well-sealed door panel can sound amazing, if properly amped and using a clean source. You will virtually *never* get great quality from a new car…regardless of price. Save your money and get the stock radio.

Remember, this is a new model….wait patiently for a few months as all the aftermarket folks get a chance to make higher quality components that fit. Then take the money you would've spent on a "premium" HK and spend it on 2-4 new speakers, wires, dynamat, amp, subwoofer and head unit (in that order). You can do some of this in phases so it's easier on your wallet. You may spend more than the HK upgrade, but you will blow it away in terms of clarity, punch, frequency response and overall quality.

It's now been 6 weeks since they said they would be sending me a check. Two weeks ago I called BMW NA and they told me they already sent the check to my dealer. My dealer says they never received the check. BMWNA said they would take care of it in 3 to 5 business days. I called back in the morning last week and left a message with the rep who was assigned my case. Didn't receive a call back, so I called again late in the afternoon. The girl who answered the phone said my rep was unavailable. She then read notes that my rep spoke to me on the phone that day and told me it could take x amount of time. I said if my rep spoke to me today, I would definitely remember! I then asked her to transfer me to a supervisor. While on hold for a supervisor, my rep magically appeared! He put me on hold and supposedly contacted my dealer and told me to call back in 3 to 5 business days. This is getting kind of ridiculous.

I was told 6-8 weeks for the check. I spoke to my rep on 04/09 and haven't seen anything yet, and I called today and she said to call back June if I haven't seen it.

Does anyone have a picture of what the actual 2 bass speakers below the front seats look like? Are they mounted to the bottom of the seats or are they under the floor board? I see 1 small vent under each seat but for the life of me dont hear anything coming from there. Also does anyone have a picture of the amp and where that is located?

Just checked, it's in the floor facing upward. I believe the amp is in the trunk

Maybe the M2 will cost $875 and we will actually have the HK/L7 system, be a shame and not raise the M2 a notch in everyway IMO.

This was a big deal to alot of us, what we got was the same option as the E46 got, option 674, lets hope they listen to us. I am encouraged they have put the B&O in the 5-series now as an option but discouraged that it will take some re-design and additional cost, so depending on the return they would make on the investment probably will axe it. All they have to change is wiring harness, different amp, no way to put 2 speackes in the back and look good but I would settle for less speakers, same as in the 135i with surround sound,
