Battery post shim
curious if anyone has ever used a battery post shim?
not a big deal, need one for my non-BMW car that's under warranty. should I see about a new battery or is a battery shim either I install, or something I should let a dealer install ? |

Normally a battery shim shouldn't me needed if the correct terminal clamp for the battery is used. Sometimes the clamp may be the correct one but is distorted due to previous over tightening. I would look at replacing the cable terminal clamp before shimming.

Yeah - only 2200 miles on new vehicle owned for ten months. Battery posts may be too small and maybe they will replace battery. I'm not going to shim it - I'll let dealer decide - clamp looks correct, just read on forums battery posts (as opppsed to cable terminal) most likely is at fault, loose battery terminals common on cheaper Honda's.
