Battery Drain

I have an issue with whatever is continuing to stay on in my car (2015 235i). It will stay on until the battery is dead. I just replaced the battery (originally thought this was the issue but confirmed it was not, old battery was the original from 2015, got the new one anyways and registered/coded it). I am under the assumption it is the water pump since I am approaching 90k miles however in the video it might be something else.

Additionally, ANY electrical change will turn it off (opening the hood, locking/unlocking, stepping on the brake, opening the door, etc.) however it will just turn back after about 30 seconds

Any help is great

So your original battery lasted 10 years? Pretty good. Mine is going strong at 8, fingers crossed on that.

Are you saying that your water pump is driven by a motor?

Yes, that sounds like the water pump operating a bleed procedure.

Why it would randomly start to do this? Good question.

The water pump is commanded by the engine computer (DME in BMW speak). Scan the DME for faults.

The WP is electric. You needs to scan the DME for codes.
