Connected Drive Outage Blocks Apple Car Play

I have seen this on a few tech sites now. Apparently a massive connected drive outage is blocking the subscription authentication for Apple Car Play leaving the featured locked out for owners of various vehicles. I always thought it sucked that BMW charged so much for the feature and sucked even more when they decided a yearly subscription model was even more lucrative. It appears the outage has been ongoing for about 4 days now.

I haven't had any issues but I did the flat activation fee when I bought it.

I have a 2019 BMW, which I believe has the subscription based CarPlay, and have not had problems.

Consider it a favor. Had CarPlay and tried it for a while. Disliked it intensely, turned it off, and center stack/audio/nav were back to useful function.

is this still an issue? haven't reinstalled my CarPlay unlock yet after the recent TSB for programming

Your unlock certificate doesn't actually access the server normally used to check for car play activation so you should be fine.
