Moving from an F30

Hey all,
on NYE my f30 was totaled by a drunk driver. Accident sucked, and I've been driving my truck ever since, casually car shopping and trying to figure out what I replace it with.

I was VERY close to picking up a 340i, same setup as my last one, but spotted an m235 on the road and remembered that I've always wanted a coupe.

Since that happened, Ive been casually shopping.

Last friday a match came up (black interior, black exterior, nav, cold weather package, dark wood trim) exactly what I was looking for, icing on the cake with Dinan exhaust installed.

Unicorn. 2017 MY - 1 owner car, no accidents, purchased, serviced, and traded in, all at the same dealership. Even Dinan exhaust was installed there. 15k miles in 2.5 years of ownership. CPO.

Pulled the trigger sight unseen. After putting deposit down, and agreeing to finalize the deal, setting up delivery, and making travel arrangements, sales guy calls me back and lets me know it also had a Dinan Stage 1 tune installed on it, they cant figure out if its still there, but it was in the past.

took Amtrak in (6 hour total journey, sucked a lot, I have 9 herniated disks and 2 pinched nerves from the car accident).

Car is beautiful in person, completely blew me away. I called Dinan, got some info, logged into the tuner, and it definitely works.

The drive back home was amazing. This is hands down the most fun Ive ever had in a car. The cold start is awesome, and this exhaust is the perfect balance of performance and subtle.

and a pic

Carbon fiber mirrors match great with the wheels

Sorry about the spinal injuries. As a chiropractor, I know what you are going through. Heal well and completely.

Wow. What a cream puff of car! I had an opportunity to drive both a 340i and a 240i at the BMW driving school in S.C. back to back for a day. It was a night and day difference and made me lust even more after the 2 series. What a return to form for BMW. You made a great choice and the seats are really comfy compared to some of the newer BMW's I've had so hopefully that will help with your back.

Congrats on a great buy! I can just see that grin on your face when driving your new car - it's like driving the E46 models, but more refined!

Beautiful car! I recovered from a herniated disc L4/L5 a couple years back. Worse pain I've ever experienced in my life. Get better soon so you can enjoy the 2er.

thanks for the positive feedback guys.

Definitely loving this car so far. Only thing I'm not crazy about is the lackluster audio system. Definitely going to be the first thing I touch.

I just got done filling the holes for the front bumper license plate bracket with the lowes plastic push plugs..already feeling better walking in front of the car.

How bad were the injuries for you? This was pretty much the same situation I was in.

We're also moving from the F30 for my wife's daily driver - '13 328 iX to a '15 Estoril II 228i 6-speed with 17K miles. Buying from a friend that special ordered it, did Euro delivery & has pampered it.

I'm also a chiropractor - hope you're getting good care!

Beautiful car!
If you dont mind, how many miles and what was it going for?

Just got down with a micro-discectomy surgery for my herniated L5-S1.
3 months and it wouldnt heal on its own, pain was horrible, So far so good 2 weeks after surgery. I can finally stand up and sit down quick again without pain..

She's a beaut! You pick the best colour, but I am biased of course Enjoy!

PS: You ready to ditch those runflats? Will help a lot with ride quality and performance.

16k miles, CPO, it was 38k (37 after CPO loyalty discount and BMW CCA discount)

thats interesting on the surgery. Ive been terrified of that option, but so far, almost 6 weeks into PT, its just not "getting better" the way it should.

Ditching them would be dangerous at this point, michigan roads are the worst in the country..I'd consider it if I got the spare tire kit.

black is definitely the proper color for them. Old Russian tradition
