Release Date: Today, July 8th, 2016.

Description: DINANTRONICS Sport is the boost controller for the masses. Its simple design/execution allows for easy installation/removal that can be performed in a blink of an eye and yields results you will be sure to feel, and enjoy, from the get go. Coupled with Bluetooth capabilities right out of the box that allows for user controlled adjustability and a live boost monitor to keep track of the action its a value proposition that is unequaled in the marketplace.

DINANTRONICS Sport plugs into a single sensor which lends itself to a very quick and and discrete installation, or removal, should the need arise. Not only does this connection method offer a simplified install but also effectively utilizes the factory DME, in tandem with itself, in order to re-map boost, fueling, and timing for optimal performance. Once installed DINANTRONICS Sport enjoys connectivity to various smartphone devices courtesy of its built-in Bluetooth Smart system. From the free app one has the freedom to reduce stock boost for valet duties or crank up the boost all the way up to the "race" setting for maximum enjoyment... or anywhere in between. Regardless of what setting is chosen there is a power level for everyone. Also within the app the end user has access to a live boost monitor which streams boost data in real time to the phone very similar in appearance to the sport gauges on the iDrive. Not only will you be able to feel the difference but now you can see it as well!

Perhaps best of all, the unit automatically detects which engine it is installed upon and loads the appropriate mapping. Effectively making a single unit compatible with an extremely wide range of applications making switching to a new vehicle, sharing with another, or selling the unit a breeze.

Benefits of the DINANTRONICS Sport Performance Tuner for BMW N20/26 Engines:
  • Up to +30 HP and +50 lb-ft on some applications (See performance charts below for specific applications)
  • Bluetooth smart (Android Compatible, iOS Coming Soon)
  • Live boost monitor
  • Multiple power settings to choose from (Sport, Sport+, and Race). Units ship pre-set to the Sport + setting.
  • Valet / parental control modes (-3 PSI)
  • Quick, easy, and discrete installation
  • Automatically detects engine type and loads appropriate mapping (if unit is for multiple engine types)
  • Racing Only Product at this time: CARB EO submitted and in progress
  • 14 day satisfaction guarantee
  • 1 year product warranty (does not include consequential damages or labor costs)

For a full breakdown of the various tuning options within the tiered DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner lineup please visit our comparison page, HERE, to understand which step in the 'evolution of power' is right for you.

RACING ONLY: Not legal for sale or use in California. CARB EO submitted and pending.

Interesting. I already have Dinan S1 on my 228i. Assuming this new product becomes street-legal in CA, what performance gains might I expect from it and will I be paying the full amount or just the difference between the S1 and the new tune?

It's an alternative product (although similar) from the full DINANTRONICS system you have now. Sport does not produce as much gains as your current setup. It also does not take into account as many variables (effectively a 1 sensor hookup) so the drivability in comparison is different. Sport is a very very simplified version of its bigger brother.

We simply keep getting asked to provide a cheap low cost alternative then our norm so we did so. Its a simple entry level tuning device with some fun features but holds no matching warranty in order to meet the significantly reduced price point.

As always, thank you for your frankness and honesty; this, and the quality of your products, is what makes me an all-in Dinan customer. Having taken a careful look at the product page and price-point, I had come to the right conclusion, it turns out.

You deserve to do very well with this module. I bet it will resonate particularly with people who lease their cars but want more pep at a reasonable price with lots of user-friendliness and a very small footprint.

Thanks again.

Hey, just realized this is applicable to my N20 2015 X3! I think I'll pick one up! Looks like an easy installation too, no dealer install required.

Indeed. Ultimately the N20/25 / N55 one should be listed for the E series N55 engines as well as soon as some additional testing has been finalized. The B48/46 MINI one that was released should be applying to the F48 X1 28i in he near future as well as the B38 engines once that testing is finished as well.

LOTS of applications, BMW and beyond, are in the works.

Nice! Now I'll have a S2 for my 235 and a "mini" tune for my X3 and for a very reasonable investment.

Good job Dinan.

Ordered today (for my X3 N20) and will be here Wednesday. Can't wait to hook it up. For $300 should be a decent investment. I love my S2 shooting forward to this "mini" tune.

But it's obviously still safe to use, right? Analogous to the competitor systems out there?

I will refrain from giving an estimated ETA on the iOS app as that bit me the last time around. The first iOS app we did for the full DINANTRONICS took about 3 months to make it to the store from with all the random hoops apple seemingly made us go through.

A fart app doesn't require accessing MAC address data which Apple seems to take exception too... As noted above, most likely for security reasons.

I suppose, but it's also Apple. They can be a PITA (I write apps, but mostly Android specifically because of Apple's processes). I'll be Dinan didn't have to jump through so many hoops for google play store...In any case, looking forward to hooking up the new device to my x3/n20
