coding DSC to make your F-series fun...

I've spent the afternoon trying to adapt information in this superb blog entry to the F-series.

My car is a 2/2014 build M235i 6MT with a Quaife LSD.

What I've got so far. These are all DSC => 3000 nodes.
Engine Power Reduction to Prevent Brake Disc Overheating (FLR)
?

Brake Fading Compensation (HPS)
C_Funktion_Fadingkompensation_aktiv_I
activ => nicht_activ

Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA)
?

Brake Standby (EVB)
C_Funktion_Bremsbereitschaft_aktiv_I
activ => nicht_activ

Maximum Brake Support (HVV)
?

Dynamic Performance Control (FDB)
C_Funktion_FDB_GMV_aktiv_I, already nicht_active (likely owing to the fact that I'm RWD?)

Electronic Differential (AX_Ref_Diff_Lock)
C_Funktion_Differenzialsperre_aktiv_l
activ => nicht_activ

I'd appreciate help filling in the blanks (where applicable) and correcting errors. Thanks for reading!

By the way, in the process of the above, I noticed my car is coded for the 370/30mm rotors in front even though the car wears 340/30mm from BMW.

interesting, I have not noticed a drop off in lap time as in that article. Let me know how your car does or feels, might give some of these a go.

Were you able to map all of the F25 actions to your F22? Can you fill in the blanks or point us to a thread where they're already filled in?

The one I'm really on about is e-diff, which I perceive to be braking/pulling power in tight corners and middling throttle inputs. That is, I've noticed that when unwinding the wheel under constant throttle there's a noticeable kick when the wheel gets straight. This is more of a street-driving issue, but I should be able to tell if there's any difference on track as well.

This is awesome. I need to code these in. Was it hard?

the terminology is tedious, and the tools are brittle, but otherwise it was a doddle

Okay, well I know my way around a computer reasonably well, so I'll take a crack at it. Besides, I know pikcachu has a great cheat sheet on this.

I notice this exact sensation on a daily basis, can you comment on whether the coding fixed this or not?

Thanks,

I suppose I wrote that ambiguously, I have not done any of that coding yet. I will try for this weekend, I am at sebring a week later for 2 days open track and can see if any of it effects the feel.

The coding is pretty easy, just watch the tutorials.

it's hard to be sure I'm witnessing the absence of this issue, because I haven't been rigorous about recreating it, but I will certainly report on my findings...

so far, I only have a short commute under my belt with this coding in place

e-diff doesn't pull power off... just apply brakes to the spinning wheel ala LSD

Also be careful with the stuff you change on the DSC as it's not like you are just turning off a warning message for navigation...

thresholds for the brake disk overheating might be different in our cars so you might never hit it...

When you can get to the exact variable name post it so I can take a look.

Thanks

Pika has me thinking twice about these, while the brake one does not bother me, I never felt any issues with the e LSD and my LSD. I'm thinking they may have more issues with X1 which is awd and a cuv. I've had the car in some pretty ridiculous slip angles. I may want the e LSD on road for some unforeseen emergency.

Edit,

E LSD is only on with all the traction control disabled (as much as we can) so I will code it off.
