BimmerLink

BimmerLink for iOS question

1. After configuring a setting such as ASD OFF or EXHAUST FLAP ON, will it remain the same when I restart the car? Or do I need to open the app every single time when I restart the car?

2. Realtime sensor value display: I realize when I connect to the Wifi adapter, I don't receive data anymore so I can't receive Whatsapp messages for instance. When I connect to the Bluetooth adapter, I can't connect to the iDrive system. Is there a way to solve this?

Reply from Stephan

The ASD and exhaust flap settings are only temporary and need to be reset every time the car is restarted. You can change the WiFi connecting to use a static IP, so you would be able to connect to the adapter and also have an internet connection. Please check the attached screenshot.

Kind regards

Bimmerlink may be different. But, E-sys and Bimmercode will set ASD setting that car remembers. Exhaust flap is different.

Here is what I did on my F36 2015

1- turn on engine
2- connect bimmerlink
3- turn exhaust flap on
4- go under the driver side exhaust and disconnect the wire that controls closing and opening it
5- tape things up just to make sure no water or anything goes in and secure the hanging wire
6- you will have both exhausts open in all modes and louder exhaust too!

Note, F36 particularly has annoying stock configuration for the flap, not like the F32. Don't know why.... anyway the flap will open in sport+ mode and when you are in higher speeds. It's not enough to be in sport+ mode but also you need to be in higher speeds then it opens. Hella weird in my opinion. That's why did the 6 steps above and left it open all the time!
