Difference between EU and USA brakes?

I'm looking at upgrading my brakes on my USA-spec 2016 M235i X-Drive. Local dealer's quote for OEM seems way high so I was considering ordering my own parts.

I contacted a local (German) shop about EBC's with Red Stuff and they won't work with me because they don't "think" that the parts are the same. I also found OEM Brembo's on a .de site with slotted rotors at almost half the cost of what the dealer quoted me.

My question is are the systems different? Or is it safe for me to order from a .de site for my USA-spec 2-series? All I'm needing is pads and rotors. Dimensions are the same as OEM (340x30mm front and 345x24mm rear for rotors).

Thanks for any input.
