Any owners out there?

Hi,

I've got one due at the end of Nov and wondered if there were any other owners out there!

Dave
Just been informed my wife's 218d has completed production so we are awaiting for it to cross the channel and get to the dealer.

Thumbs up

Looks as though a number are keeping their heads down in response to the tirade from the purists on the FWD debate. Glad at least that BMW moved on from the single cylinder in the Izetta my father bought when I was born! The AT is going to be a very popular model for BMW. I was attracted by the peppy 3 cylinder having driven the new Cooper, but needed something more practical, and was glad that the engine at least is built in the UK. I think of it more like a large hatchback. It certainly doesn't match the MPV credentials of the C4 Picasso, but is a much better drive.

My AT Sport is due to be delivered mid December - Flamenco Red, Business Nav, Comfort Pack, Sunroof amongst options - but I don't expect to see it before the new year judging from the demand their appears to be. Any other indications on delivery schedules and the specs new owners have gone for would be of interest.

Rear Centre Armrest NOT FITTED

My Wife's 218d Luxury, Auto, Dakota Leater, Panoramic roof duly arrived but there is no centre rear armrest that did show on the configurator. BMW say you only get the armrest if you order the "Extended Storage Package" - personally I think this is ridiculous and I am quite disappointed.

Please post your Active Tourers.
No matter what people say there are threads for the GT models also filled with how owners love that particular model.

There will be no backlash.

Yep, I was disappointed that they don't include a 12v plug in the boot, for our cool box, front wheel drive and a cool box, what Devils work is this

Seems to come standard on the ones I've seen in Australia -- as is Nav and extended BT.

Hi peps, new on here.

Been driving my 220d xdrive AT since start of dec. changed my x5 for one of these so big diff for me but really brought it for the wife as she felt more confident driving a smaller car.

It's a good car but noticed a lot of road noise when driving of rough roads especially on the motorways. Wondered if anybody notice this or is just me?

what wheel size do you have? I drove the 16" one and road noise was minimal.

Hi, i got 17 goodyear efficiencygrip run flats. It's fine most of the time just certain sections of the motorway where the tarmac is old and course. It's a very noticable when you drive on newly layered then old. I have never noticed it on my previous cars (last three being 4x4 suv).

Just wondering if its normal or just a tyre/car combination problem.

I haven't noticed this on the 16' tires (run flats also)...

Cool F45 2 Series 218D M Sport Active Tourer

Good morning to all my wife and I took delivery on 30th November of our 2AT and have to admit we're delighted with the car. Having joined this forum I'll need to find out how to add some photographs!

We bought a BMW approved used car 218i AT Luxury to replace a 16 year old 1.8l Vectra. This was one of the launch cars so a reasonable deal with 7000 miles on the clock and fully loaded. The 1500 3 cylinder engine is quite powerful and very easy to drive on the motorway and around town.

Disappointingly there is a nasty creak coming from the front left suspension when turning the steering wheel and the rear passenger door leaks. BMW has had a first attempt at fixing the problems but to no avail. I am waiting for a new door liner to be shipped from Germany and as for the creaking, BMW know about the problem but don't have a fix. Anyone here with a similar complaint?

Ignoring the problems we are very happy with the car.

I have the new Active Tourer 225XE (the hybrid one) and i'm very satisfied with it. A really comfortable and luxury car. I have the M-Sport package on it and it is really fast with the combined gasoline & electric engine.

Before this one I had the i3, lot's of problems so i decided to trade in for an active tourer hybrid. Best choice ever.

New in here with my black 218d Adv. with Steptronic from September 2015. It's both a company and private car and it has gone 111.000 km (~69.000 miles) in those 10 months - and another 4000 km will be added in the next 3 days. So it's been well driven so far and I'm still as much in love with it as the day I picked it up.

It's my first BMW, so I can't really compared it to "real" BMW's with backwheel drive, but it really doesnt feel as much as a FWD as many other cars, I have driven.

I havent had any problems with it except now, that the entertainment system is messing up with streaming music from my phone by Bluetooth. Spotify is working 100%, but my Podcast app is not playing any music anymore (and information not displayed either). Just installed Deezer and it does the same. No music is playing and no information displayed either.

It seems strange, when Spotify is working flawlessly, but I'll make a thread for this instead of using this one.
