AW car - To roof wrap or not to roof wrap?

i've been stuck with a first world dilemma for months now - whether I should apply an Avery premium gloss black roof wrap or leave the car stock. I'm entirely on the fence on this for various reasons, so i'd like the community to make that decision for me via a poll.

Did a small analysis, in no particular order;

1. Looks more aggressive and a tad more unique (Roof wrap +)
2. Additional layer of protection (Roof wrap +)
3. Loses its stock/classic bmw aesthetics, looks more 'ricer' (Stock +)
4. Does not conceal the sunroof (Stock +)

I have an alpine white with most of the m performance parts already installed, with exception of the side sill decals.

Here's an image of a roof wrapped AW m235i with m performance parts for your reference;

Thanks for giving your feedback and helping me determine the final look of my car!

Avex,

I think the car in the photo looks cool with the wrapped roof. My vote it to go for it. Good luck with your decision.

I personally think this is a passing fad and would rather not have my BMW look like a Toyota Camry. I say if it doesn't come with a carbon fiber roof from the factory, just let it be!

Not a fan at all. I've got a AW 19' M240i with black staggered black 719M wheels. I had the mirror covers wrapped gloss black to match the shadowline trim. The mirror covers should have come from the factory that way in all honesty.

I'm a fan of subtle changes like that. Most people will never realize the mirrors are wrapped because it just looks right. Wrapping the roof in black, especially with a sunroof will stick out - and not in a good way me thinks.

Then again, to each his own. BTW I had the front part of my roof and A pillars wrapped in 3M clear film. Added protection but at least it's transparent.

White is always a good starting point, and my last 5 cars have been white. I’m thinking this car can pull off a single racing stripe down the center. I got moonroof delete, thinking might try one day. If you like the black roof then go for it. The black and white contrast is cool. Cheers

It would certainly look good with the black out wheels.

Cosmetic stuff is a personal choice - if you like it do it. I just wouldn't suggest getting a "glossy" wrap, you can see every mark. I did 3M carbon fiber wrapped roof, it's been a year no issue.

I kinda like the look on the all white car. I think not having a moonroof would make the roof wrap look a lot cleaner.

Again, much goes to personal taste. The nice thing about a wrap, if down the road you don't like it anymore, you can have it taken off.

Thanka for all your input. I've decided to keep the roof stock based on the results of the poll . Going to get it ceramic coated instead.
