Front license plate
Any ideas on how to mount my front license plate? I bought the car in Florida and there's no holes in the front bumper because the state doesn't require a front plate. Right now my plate is zip tied to the front grill because I kinda don't want to drill holes lol

New member, first post. I'm picking up my EB II on Oyster M235i this afternoon! Had to solve this problem since the cops in my area are a complete pain. Here is what I've ordered. It's been very well reviewed elsewhere and I chose to go this route since I hate the offset plate look and do not want to drill my bumper anywhere.

I would go with carbonio or adhesive, as suggested above

If you are going to keep the plate on all the time, then bite the bullet and use the factory mount in the center - it looks good and n/t else is as secure. I hate the idea of drilling, but the majority of cars have had this done and it isn't really damaging things for resale unless you know you'll be selling to a 1-plate state. I personally don't run a front plate much unless I'm going to be street parking or travelling through a lot of jurisdictions, so the tow hook mount works well (Millworks). If Millworks make a euro-sized backing plate that would work fine - it is a very sturdy aluminum plate, but it might block parking sensors.
That Carbonio mount is interesting, but I wonder if it will torque on the grill too much at high speed. There are other mounts that tape-mount to the underside of the vent hole if this one won't go on a 235 (and I think a lot cheaper). |
