exhaust options

hey guys,

new to the BMW scene. currently in the market for an exhaust. I've been looking at ARK, AWE and Fabtech. not looking to hear much drone which people seem to say the Fabtech causes.he Fabtech does sound pretty mean though. i also really like the ARK system. I've listened online and they all sound good but we all know videos don't give the full effect so if anyone has any opinions they would like to share on these I'd love to hear them.

I just did a muffler delete at a local shop and it sounds awesome. Cost almost nothing compared to some of the aftermarket options.

I agree with this. I put some vibrant resonators on also. it's got a low rumble at idle and sounds aggressive when I get on it. perfect.

Interesting, do you have a clip? Mine is surprisingly quiet at idle with just the delete and stock resonator/cats. I kinda wanted it to rumble a bit but it gets really quiet after the cold start. Still the constant/louder burbles are what I was really after and it does that extremely well. Sport + mode is awesome.

Hey what do you mean by 'vibrant resonators' and how and where have you installed them?

Check the REMUS exhaust, it offers a deep and aggressive tone without any drone.

Active Autowerke axle is another great option at a very aggressive price

here ya go. I don't have any on the road yet. the pull was in 1st gear to about 4k rpm.

I used vibrant 1140 resonators. the original thread, below, used 1141s, just a difference in pipe diameter.

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1380785

the resonators are between the y pipe and the tips in the area where the OEM muffler is, just like the pics in the f30 thread.

everything else is oe, downpipe, original resonator, etc.

there are a few guys who have posted videos of this setup in their f3x. somehow, it's not the same. did the same exact thing in my wife's f30 and it's not nearly as loud or aggressive. we were both kinda disappointed at how quiet the f30 still was.
