Anyone's mirrors squeak when fold/unfolding?

Both my mirrors started squeaking when folding recently. Never had that issue with any bmw I had.

Any suggestions? Or do I need service.

Climate,

I fold my mirrors every day and have not heard a sound (other than the motor drive). I do clean the pivot / contact area with a microfiber cloth regularly to avoid the buildup of dust and dirt. FWIW...

My driver side mirror started about a month ago 15 months 15k miles. Dealer couldn't duplicate it when I brought it in for recall though.

This happened to my car as well. Someone on this forum recommended Wurth HHS Plus. It comes in an aerosol can with a very thin applicator tube. It flows very freely when sprayed on but becomes like grease when it dries. It completely took care of the problem. I had to re-apply it maybe once since.

My driver's side mirror started doing that recently, and I have less than 2,800 miles on my car. The mirror makes a squeaking/groaning sound and stutters a bit when folding. The dealer was able to replicate the issue and ordered a new mirror.

I on my 3rd F23 since 2014 and have never used the folding mirror function. Do they serve any useful purpose?

If you fold them when parking in tight spaces you're less likely to damage them and other people parked near you are less likely to run into them. That's really the main purpose.

I fixed my squeaking mirrors with Breakfree CLP. My garage door has 10"
clearance on both sides, so I always fold my mirrors.

Its also great to fold them after a wash. You would be surprised to see how much water they hold.

I blasted the mirrors with compressed air and it helped a little. Defiantly going to get the Wurth HHS plus.
