M Performance Exhaust question

Could someone please let me know if there is a difference between the M235i and M240i rear exhaust boxes? I know the engines are different but was curious if the exhaust's also differ.

Thanks

Going by the differences in prices, my guess is that they are different.

They are a slightly different shape on the pipe to the rear box where you cut it and the M135i one will not fit nicely at all (We have tried)

I have in stock some M240i MPE's at the minute if anyone is interested?

Matt

MPE sounds quite tame on its own.

Cheers Bee, I've never gone down the route of playing with the system on any of my cars.. ill see how I get on with the MPE firstly since it was such a cheap start and covered under the warranty.

I always remember way back I had an E36 with a total Schntizer system and that should do my head in, on the days I had a headache felt rough it was just too much and I wished I could shut it off

Is that where they have left the chrome tips? They look far too far back, unless that is your preference?

Noticeably more than stock? Any chances of a short video clip? I've seen a few clips and can't really tell a massive difference. I'm still torn if I should get one or not.

Massively more noticeable! On the overrun and down shifts in manual the sound is addictive. Downside is you will find yourself using more fuel as you keep your foot in longer to savour the noise.

(Got mine from Cotswold and I live in Manchester. They did a great job.)

M240i MPE doesn't have the exhaust valve

M235i MPE retains the valve

M235i and M240i MPE's are definitely different.

I have the MPE on both M240i's and they sound great, good noise with lots of popping and banging but no motorway drone. Love it.

Having a debate with myself at the moment between fitting an MPE, Remus or even rear silencer delete although I find the 1st two the most attractive although also most expensive. Thoughts of members would be appreciated which will stop me speaking to myself Lol. I am able to change my mind several times a day on this topic !!

Picking up our new M240i Convertible on Saturday. Had a MPE fitted as part of the deal. Hope I will not be disappointed.

Give it a thousand miles - sounds so much better after some heat cycles than it does new.
