17 or 18 inch winter wheel tire set-up?
Hello. I'm getting ready to order my M235I. I was wondering what experience has taught the rest of you about winter wheels and tires for a RWD M235I? I live in the Boston area where we can get quite a bit of snow. We also get a lot of sloppy wet snow and then a ice. so figure everything.
Experience, and the fact that I already have a one year old set of snow tires on my E90 that I could use on the M235 tells me to go with 17s. But perhaps there is some reason to go with the 18s? Is there a specific model and size of snow tire that seems to outshine the others? FWIW, I drive very carefully in the snow. I just want to be able to get back and forth to the train station and not get stuck. I've read some of the threads where people are discussing high speed driving in the snow. That does not interest me. Thanks in advance for your comments and time. Happy New Year, Bill |
