2) The front rubs if you go bigger than 225 on 8.5 inch wheels with ET 35 (as far as I'm aware- with stock suspension) 3) I want to be able to rotate to get more life from the tires so wider rear is a no-go for me |

My BC Forged 19" wheels with 235/265 tires look almost the same (flushness etc.), except for less than perfect drop (visually at least) - but I'm on the M-P lowering kit which is only supposed to lower by some 10mm all 4 corners. But I'm happy anyway, as I keep the BMW warranty for suspension (and have no need to worry about too little ground clearance). Yet, I like the looks of your setup better than mine because I made a silly mistake and changed the originally ordered "Brushed Clear" finish to something called "Brushed Black" as it looked great on the manufacturer's visualizations; in real life the finish' color turned out to have that slightly brownish tint to it. Don't get me wrong - it is still a beautiful color, but: - I'm after classy, silver-like wheels colors which make the wheels optically larger and seem to fill then wheel wells better - I had that concept when starting to visually modding my AW M235i to keep the car in just two basic colors only (white with all shades - including silver - of black exclusively), and this brown tint is not to my taste But de gustibus non est disputandum, so I can only say I like your colors better. BTW, my brownish tint wheels could look great on the EB M235i - resembling the now almost classic "blue body with "golden" wheels" Subaru Impreza brought about at the time of it glory... Piotr

Funny you mention color though, since I was initially considering bronze-like color or some sort of hyper black. Due to inventory and pricing, I ended up going with these VMRs but I think I'm content with them. Also wanted to point out that my aside from my wheels being silver, I do have taller tires both in front and rear so they do fill the wheel wells more than they would had I put tires that were of OE diameter. ----- A few more pics showing the fitment. As stated, I'm running 5mm spacers in the front, but that does cause rubbing at the fender only under compression while cornering. The last 2 pics show how the tires tuck in under compression. |

Just ordered a set of 18'' staggered VMR 801's powder coated in sunken treasure. They'll be going on my Estoril Blue M235i in a few weeks. I'll update with pictures soon. I'm also looking to either Dinan sport lowing springs. Any pro's or con's with 18" VMR wheels?

It would be a tight fit, but you may be able to make it work. We generally recommend 19x8.5 ET35 with a 225/35/19 tire for a square setup.

Love your wheels. What sizes do you recc for an 18" square setup on stock 228 X drive? Wanting max width w/o any rubbing; either Conti Extremes or MPSS/MP4S if that matters.

Hey everyone! Finally got my VMR V801's 18's in the stagger set in sunken treasure fitted and clear coated. Can't wait to see them with the car actually clean.
