The installation time has been quoted as 6+ hours because you have to drop the rear sub-frame to get at the sway bar. That time is also probably with the correct facilities (i.e. lift), I'd imagine it would otherwise be worse.

It can be done in less than 6 hours for sure. You'll need a trans jack preferably and a lift. You can lower the rear subframe just enough to get the old bar out and new one in.
You're still looking at 3-ish hours though. |

It's harder than you think. If you are in the business of being careful, it takes 5-6 hours for a good independent shop that doesn't do this on a regular basis. The front sway is even harder, as you need to basically un-mount the engine, put it on a lift, drop the subframe, then do the sway bar install.
Not recommended unless you track the car. It's too much of a pain in the ass.

As someone who did it himself, I can say I am glad my neighbors shop has a lift. I have a small "Track Jack" Jack system. I could have maybe done it with that but would have been a mess.
So, If you are comfortable messing around with sub frame, drive train, drive shaft, exhaust, suspension than yes. Without a lift, you have to do all that in 24" or so of space. Oh by the way, front is twice as hard. |

Is the rear sway bar worth upgrading by itself for those who track regularly? I'll be installing a LSD to the car, should I be looking at changing the sway bar as well?
