So what did you order? Matty has ordered a pure in white. I've a blue DCT coming but I've told them to delay till next year due to various reasons.

Contradict, lol, you need to read slower maybe, I said 18-20 months ago I was qtes a discounted price for a 235 @$100k. "So many people have quoted a fully optioned one for under $80k" yeh hundreds lol.

Trolling no, just sick of your BS mate.

When you grow up, and become and old c like me, you will understand wher I'm coming from. Move along den.
Once again, you should listen to your own advise.

What does "market have now moved on" have anything to do with this? We've always been talking about right here right now. I still don't believe any BMW dealers will give 10k discounts on a highly anticipated car with low monthly allocations. Why would dealers do that?

It has nothing to do with whether I'm buying one or not. I've always said for the price vs product, I'm not interested.

Sick of my BS? get off your high horse. Who do you think you are? Being a keyboard warrior on a forum? Congrats. For someone who say he's "old" it's pathetic.

You telling me to read slower? wow the pot calling the kettle black. You're comparing prices from 18-20 months ago to now? You're joking right.

What does age have anything to do with this? Do people's attitude become worst by age?

WTF am I in denial about? Seriously there's something wrong with you. I bought a 235 15 months ago for 82k, i went into 2 dealerships discussing M2 prices in january and April, and both quoted 110k.

So just because you don't agree I'm in denial? What kind of logic is that?

As for the 1M, it's not my car, it's my flatmate's car, and yes he bought it for that price. Back then and right now is the same, just because YOU don't agree with a statement, everyone else is wrong. It's pathetic.

If I "grow up" and become old like you and act like you? I'd kill myself.

But we aren't just any body, we are volume buyers. No dealer is going to discount the car more than 2-3k if you aren't going to reward them with multiple car purchase every year. And his almost $100k M235i quote was before BMW dropped the price and with some expensive M performance wheels. No one pays $100k now, but it wouldn't be $80k for his car either.
I would leave it, if old mate Alpine didn't act like a c***. We're on a forum discussing a particular car, positive and negative reviews and posts are common. I have no idea what his problem is, just because views differ to his.

As for the discounts, high volume buyers aren't common (I think most would agree), so Alpine* using high volume buyers like your mates and yourself as "par" is absolutely ridiculous and say the M2 DCT is $100k, yes it's true for you guys but it's not achievable by the majority.

As for his M235i quote, it just shows how contradictive he is, RRP for my fully optioned car was $101k. So if he got 100k. Him 18-24 months ago is basically in the same situation as all normal M2 buyers right now, which is minimal to no discounts on a brand new car. Yet, he argues about discounts now, which he couldn't get back then. The Irony.

But thanks for informing us of this information. At least we know what kind of person Alpine* is.

I mean if it's value for money, we should all just buy the Suzuki Clitoris (or whatever it's called). If it's pure track performance, then surely a Porsche GT3 must be the way to go. Everything else is a compromise.
Let's get back on topic, shall we please? Extrapolating someone's *specific* experience as a -general- principle or rule (especially when it's someone else, i.e., a mate, a bloke I spoke to in the pub...) is just plain wrong -- that's what makes us dumber!

Pure white, WAY.

Should we introduce some discussion of TTRS to stir things up? I really like the new TTRS. More power, less weight. New engine is a whole 26kg lighter! Also what does this mean for the RS3? Will the updated version of the RS3 be a better challenger for the M2?

numbers are definitely impressive. prob challenge Merc/A45 fanboy egos more than BMWs?! as you know better than most, they will drive vastly different from M2s. Are you buying one WAY?!

Less weight! Poor value for money then

Actually, perhaps we should simply have a "Contenders" thread for all the miscellaneous alternatives....I mean, why stop at the TTRS??

The ttrs on paper is looking like a monster! Most tt and tts reviews have been positive.. So hopefully this package will be good.

But it's not going to be cheap... Mk2 ttrs plus started at 139k?

Yep, and heaps on carsales in the past couple weeks too, 1 (that came down off the site within days). Only 300 allocations in the first year, allegedly all have been spoken for. Likely a few of whom are speculators.

For comparison, there are 15+ RS3s online (2016 brand new) for sale. Take up rate is way lower than the M2, the A45 well that's a different story, at least when they originally came out a couple years back.

What was the allocation of the 1M in the first year ? Was it about the same ?

I recall the speculators trying to sell them for $120k ++ in the early months

Total Aus allocation over the two year run was ~302 cars. In 2011 the story put out by BMW was circa 100 total cars coming in, then there was a tsunami that hit Japan, rumour has it Aus got quite a number of their allocation given the catastrophy there.

Den, your intelligence never ceases to amaze, again adding a significant amount of value to this thread, not.
