Start Up Idle Issues

Anyone else have this happen not sure if this is common or not for bmw as this is my first.

When I startup my car Iíll warm it up and wait usually till it drops to about 700. My problem is after I warm up the engine Iíll shut it off and turn it back on and itís like Iíve never warmed it up. Idle is back to like 1500 as if it was a cold start and have to wait till it goes back down till I drive off.

This gets annoying typically at gas stations why I turn my engine off for couple mins and turn back on and gotta wait for idle to drop.

Was wondering if this is normal

You don't need to wait for your drop in RPM to drive off. Just don't push it past 4K RPM for about the first 10 minutes.

Might be the 02's waiting to get back to temp. 30 seconds is usually enough before you get going on a cold start. If it's already warm for sure just go.
