New to me 235

Just picked up a 2015 M235 black over black after many months of research and being extremely particular in the options/color etc. The car has 7100 miles on it and I paid $24,000. My last BMW was an E36 M3 that I should have never sold and I've owned numerous Bmw's over the years including several while I was stationed in Germany. Really, really like the car, perfect size, great handling, and actual steering feel. I picked it up from a dealer in Indy and drove back to Michigan. The car has had the brake fluid service and oil change but when I asked the dealer if the coolant had been flushed (it is low miles but it is 5 years old) the service guy said it didn't need to be done until 100,000 miles. I always assumed BMW's needed that service done more frequently than that? Am I missing something. Super happy with the purchase although I will say that I still can't understand why BMW doesn't see fit to have an oil temp and coolant temp gauge in a $50,000 car!

It's in the OBC hidden menu, but it's a pain to get to it every time you drive...

1. hit the start button with your finger already on the trip reset button
2. hit it until you hit unlock...
3. add the last 5 numbers of your vin, thats the unlock code
4. it's under the 4th option labeled "temperature" i believe

Thanks, sounds like a lotta work for something a simple gauge would display!

It is. Definitely get a P3 multi guage if you like to make sure temps are good to go.

Congratulations! Our car history is similar: I drove an e36 M3 for many years before I was rear ended. Switched to an e91 for practical reasons and have just committed to purchasing a 2016 M235i with 21K miles. I really like the P3 gauge suggested but it's way too expensive.

How did you get such a good deal? Did you also purchase extended warranty? Was the vehicle cpo with clean title?

I didn't get a warranty as part of the deal. I wasn't too worried since I did get the vehicle history/maintenace report, and at that price I have a budget for any unexpected repairs. I actually was able to track down the previous owner who used it to drive to Florida. Couldn't be happier. He even added the carbon fiber mirrors and decklid which I would never have spent that kind of money on a cosmetic add on.
