@Rupes:
We have the M2 on order as well.

How are you ordering an M2? I didn't think that it was even confirmed or priced yet... let alone what engine or anything else announced

Nice post!

Just curious, how difficult was the wavetrac installation? Is the stock differential also welded like the n54 335i?

Nice build. Great work.

If you have the ability to read faults deeper then average you may find that your momentary power loss towards the end of the session is DSC / BRAKE system induced. It's an overheat protection function. ( car see speed , brake force, duration of pedal application , and repeated application and goes into limp "thinking" that brakes are overheated.

It was a never ending issue with me with my base 128.

Thanks, that seems reasonable. Doing the math, a few Recaro Profi XL's, Schroth Harnesses, painted half-cage. I think you can get this done for $4500 or so depending on your seat and harness selections and shipping costs.

Officially on my list.

Interesting, I'd have to confirm with the guys but I don't think they were seeing any codes like that.

The power loss we encountered seems to be related to someone (that may be me) forgetting to turn off the A/C during sessions. With the A/C off, we haven't had the problem occur.

@hankolerd:
We will be getting into that soon in a future post.

@Ghent:
Just a name on a list at this point.

@bmw_fanatic:

Yep, just like the previous gen, these cars all have their ring gears welded to the differential. It is the same process of cutting the existing ring gear off the stock differential and performing the required machining to bolt onto the Wavetrac differential.

Care to define how that is possible? I work at a BMW dealership as a CA and allocation is not even out yet. Nor is it on the horizon.

EDIT: Nevermind, just read a few posts above. I guess "on order" has different meanings to different people. I have a Lamborghini Huracan "on order" myself.

I love the KW dampers on there. How do these competition ones compare to their more 'street' oriented dampers (Clubsport, V3, etc.)?

I'm curious if it might be possible to swap back to the OEM seats before/after events? The bolts on the outside of the car look easy enough to access but the inner bolts seem like they might be a pain to get to.

All of my questions were answered here:
Recaro Pole Position Install on e92 M3

Yes, it is possible (though a bit painful if you had to do it often)!

@chris82
The KW Motorsport coilovers are very impressive. There are a lot of small internal design differences between the Motorsport and Clubsport/V3 but the same basic technology is carried over. Due to KW developing the suspension on the M235i Racing cars, they really got the valving dialed in. Out on the track the car is amazingly composed, with great balance and the ability to just suck up bumps and curbing like it doesn’t exist. They really help highlight the strengths of the F22 chassis. We went with the motorsport version straight away and haven’t had a chance to try the V3 or Clubsport models firsthand so unfortunately I can’t give you a proper comparison.

@///Mobbin
Putting in/taking out a racing bucket is always more of a pain than you expect it to be. Tight spaces for your hands and having to line up multiple holes at once can make it frustrating, not to mention getting the seat in and out of the door opening. That being said, using floor mounts like those from Macht Schnell or VAC can save a huge amount of headache. And once you get it adjusted how you like it and marked, it gets a lot easier.

Check out the latest update to the post >> more content and a couple videos of the car on track at Chuckwalla and Willow Springs.

More accurately we have a deposit down for an M2 and are first in line at that dealership... not "on order."
