Garage Door Opener Range
I just got a 2016 228i with the built-in Homelink. Unlike my previous cars with such a thing, with which I could open the door from 50 yards down the street, this one doesn't work until I'm virtually on my driveway (nose of the car 20' from the door). Is this normal?

I own 3 BMWs. That sounds about right. Usually I'm at the end of my driveway before the door will open - roughly 35ft.

Fair enough.
I guess I shall have to live with no longer being able to trim 10 seconds off my journey home by triggering the door as I pass by on the other side of our (divided) street so that it's already open by the time I make the u-turn and come back... |

I would say mine is around 50', but certainly no more and much less than the stand alone remote that came with the door opener.
