CEL - Glitch or Actual Concern

Hey guys,

I have a 2018 230i with nearly 30k miles. I'm running a catless dp and bm3 stage 2 tune and running 1 step colder ngk spark plugs. The other day I went to start up the car to drive to work and the CEL was illuminated. I shut the car off and restarted it but it stayed on. Car was parked in the garage and had been sitting for a day or two with about 1/8 tank of gas left. I filled up the car with gas to see if anything would change and the light remained on so I plugged in my OBD dongle and read the codes:

P0300
P0301
P0302
P0303
P0304

These are all misfire detections for all the cylinders. I spoke to my mechanic friend and he said to take the car for a short drive to see if it's driving any different / if I can feel a loss of power. I took it around the block and didn't feel any difference in power or other driving dynamics. I reset the codes and drove to work and everything has been fine since then.

I did some research and saw some people with 228s having this issue, but they typically felt the car drive differently when they got the codes. For me, if the CEL wasn't on I wouldn't even have known. I've been driving normally as expected for the last week since it happened.

Is there a legitimate reason for concern? Or could this have just been some sort of glitch?

Appreciate the help as always

If it's under warranty take it to the dealer. If it's not under warranty find a reputable indepent shop that speciallies in bimmers at www.bimrs.org.

I'm betting it's fuel related. How many miles on the car?

It’s been nearly a month and car has been driving perfectly fine. Filled up with a VPower for a few weeks and haven’t noticed any issues. Car has just about 30k miles on it.
