Enkei RPF1 18x8.5...will they fit?
So I've been thinking of getting a lightweight square set up for tracking and whatnot. I didn't see a concise "will they fit?" style thread standard to car forums so I'm just going to ask: Will Enkei RPF1s that are 18x8.5 fit on an otherwise stock M235i?
http://www.amazon.com/18x8-5-Enkei-S..._encoding=UTF8 I've ran the numbers with a sweet online calculator and the rears should be noproblemo the fronts seem iffy. Front: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...culate#content Rear: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...culate#content I can fit my index finger knuckle between the strut and the rim, which is about 10mm based on the super scientific method of holding it to a 10mm socket. For the fronts it says the new wheels would be 7.7mm closer to the strut. Would I need spacers? ~2mm of clearance seems short. In my head if I put 10mm spacers all around they'll fit but it'll be pushing the fenders. Any input is appreciated. On a side note I'm surprised there wasn't already something like this on the forum, Enkei RPF1s aren't exactly obscure. |

If you are on stock suspension this should work. You would only be poking 17.7mm more in the rear which is less than 3/4 of an inch. I have not measure yet but it def looks like theres more than an inch gap.

18x8.5 ET40, yes. I was just reading through the VMR wheel thread and it seems people are running 19x8.5 ET40 fine, which is reassuring.
What throws me off is Tirerack sells the Enkei RPF1s but they don't list them for the M235i as fitting. |

You have to get 9"+ wide to get the flat spokes. I agree they do not look good at all with the spoke poke. I've had like 3 sets of them Probably the best bang for buck wheel out there in regards to weight/quality/price. |

^ they do seem like a good value. I can't find any pictures that show the spoke poke, do you have an example?
The best I could dig up was an example picture from a group buy for RPF1s that're 18x8.5 ET40 5x108 Looks fine to me. What size tire/wheel? |

Ah. With the calculator it puts you 6.3mm closer to the strut. So no rubbing at all, front or rear? No spacers? Stock suspension?
I found them in black, which will save me the cost of painting them. http://www.autohance.com/enkei-37988...es-wheels.html |

Don't trust Tirerack, they have so much information that it's hard to get it all right. The 18x8.5 et40 will work

Here is a <9" wide rpf1. You can see the spokes poke out. I used to run a square setup on my s2000, but they were 9" so I didn't get the poke |

Sounds good. Think I'll order soon. So stupid question, will OEM center caps fit in the center cap hole on these? I figure with a blatant BMW size cut something BMW OEM will fit but I'm not sure. |

I started looking at these too, i have 1 set i can get my hands on for a good price if somebody wants them.
They show the 18x8.5 +38 NT03m also, same issue with the RPF1 though of it not looking as nice in the narrower sizes. Somebody buy them so we can check it out! |

TireRack has some new Kumho that have pretty good reviews, i think its the PS91. it has checkered flags on it like the Pilot Super Sport and the 3 reviews are from 2 BMW owners and 1 porsche owner. Looks to be pretty sticky and solid value. Already ordered the wheels? |

So I've got a stupid question before I order, when going with a square set up do I need spacers in the back?
While I don't imagine BMW would change the hub placement for a car that's stock with the staggered set up, and my winter wheels seemed to line up fine, just wanted to ask in case I missed something. |

Just installed Enkei Raijin 18x8.5 et38 with 255/35 dunlop direzza zii in the rear.. no problems. And the direzza's have very square shoulders. There is the smallest amount of poke in the rear.
But no spacers were needed. |
