wich oil for tuned M240i

I have a M240i xdrive ( 445ps ) and changed my oil yesterday, it seemed they used the Castrol 0w30 fst titanium oil, is this good for my car or should i use a thicker oil ( 0w40 ) for a tuned car ? planning to replace every 10.000 km new oil again. Not really tracking, sometimes speeding on highway but not really driving like a idiot

How long have you been running this oil and how do you like it? I used the same oil on my last oil change but I'm thinking about switching to the 0w-40 pennzoil euro. I feel like the liqui moly is unusually thick.

I've used Rotella T6 on every turbo car I've had including this one. Seems to hold up well to heat and boost. 5-40... Wrx, Sti, 335 and M235xi...

BMW recommends LL01 oil. I personally use Liqui Moly 5w30 which has that rating.

OP, I’d go with 5W30 LiquiMoly that’s BMW LL01 & FE certified. That’s what I use in my M240i, and I track him. Why? If you have an engine warranty claim you can show BMW that you’ve used the proper oil in the engine. Btw, BMW puts 0W20 oil the B58 engine of cars sold in the US. Cars with the B58 engine sold elsewhere use 5W30 oil. Why? CAFE: corporate fuel efficiency standards.

She’ll Rotella is a great oil. Many folks with the M54 engine (E46 and E39 cars) swear by it as it reduces oil consumption. However, the B58 engine is at least 2 generations ahead of the M54 engine. That said, I think putting Rotella T6 in a B58 isn’t the way to go. It’s too “thick.” I’ve talked with techs who’ve worked on and tracked BMWs for decades. They unanimously think a)0W20 oil (put in B58 engines sold in the US) is too thin, and b)LiquiMoly oil is as good as Redline oil.

Btw, almost consumer synthetic oils are made from oil or natural gas (Mobil 1) that is cracked down into the small polymer chains used to create the oil. Both LiquiMoly and Redline oils are truely synthetic. That is, the small polymers are created from scratch. Will you notice a difference? Likely not. But, I track my car and I want to make sure the engine is properly protected. I run LiquiMoly 5W30 that’s BMW LL01 FE (fuel efficiency) certified. And, it’s made in Germany. And, it’s cheaper on Amazon than many “consumer” synthetic oils.

Unless you've got a completely built engine with some crazy tune on it, use the factory recommended oil. You shouldn't need a different oil just because of a simple tune.
It also depends on where you live and what you use the car for.
Cold or warm climate? Ever track the car or just beat on it on occasion?
Unless you're seriously tracking the car, the factory recommended oil will do just fine.
