where the hood switch on our cars

I wanna check the hood switch, which tells our car's that the bonnet is open ?
I understand it's called putting it into maintenance mode,
had a error come up this morning say hood not closed and it was
it had rained heavily, not sure if the switch shorted or something,
had another start issue
