I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'd need at least the front fenders to go along with this. It's not as simple as just switching out the bumpers

I’d be interested if it could actually fit wider tires. It sucks to see a knockoff could run you several thousand dollars for the kit, install, and paint...but the most realistic alternatives would be the m235iR kit or a full custom job like the iND Blue Ice showcar, and those would both cost well north of $10k.
What this car really needs is a kit like the Evolution Racewerks 135i - keep the factory styling while adding room for some seriously meaty tires in an affordable FRP and without any cutting. The biggest downside of this platform to me is that most modders will struggle to get more tire than 235F/255R without extensive modification. Ponycar guys can easily fit 275F/315R...even before fender rolls, big camber, etc that we put up with to make it work. Last edited by 230iZTR; 05-23-2018 at 01:10 PM.. |

I think this is a step too far, I understand people running the M2 exhaust so getting a quad tip friendly diffuser is one thing, but I would not want to do full on M2 front and rear bumpers. You start to cross the territory of poser at that point. In all honesty I would be happier with a widebody that basically keeps the M sport look of the 235/240, just adds a little girth in the front and rear. But I don't have an M2, and I wouldn't want to try and make it look like it is.

Meh, I have an m235 because I need AWD. But I like the look of the M2. Not sure what the harm is. They’re mostly similar anyways and the m235 is more comfortable. The exhaust on the m235 is great it sounds powerful but not so loud it’s annoying.

I think this is all stupid, but the OP's pix are photoshopped from a JDM web page from 18 months ago. https://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/thread...f22-f23.78179/

What about doing the body kit conversion and leaving the original badge intact eg m240i badge intact. Not that I would personally do it.

I love all the “just pick up a real M2, they’re only a few thousand more” comments. If this was onlyamericans.bimmerpost.usa where cars are as cheap as chips and the French fry guy can lease an M2 for peanuts, sure. Not when your local country market M2 price is at a level that would have consumers rioting!
To protect delicate sensibilities, how about a non-US IP address ban? |

This is not as difficult as you guys might think it is; a friend of mines who had a E93 335i commissioned a local bodyshop to cut two bumpers; a OEM 335i and 1M and adjoined them to fit the E93's frame.. They even deleted the US front-side reflectors..
It looked indistinguishable and it's wasn't a fake 1M or wanna M car because it had no badges and he made no claim to such. It was just his unique Frankenstein styling. Any bodyshop that does "plastic" repairs can successfully undertake this job and perfect it.. Keep in mind that it did cost him $1,200 for everything minus the painting.. It has always be my position that you can do whatever you want to your car. If changing the bumpers would make you love the car more why not? As far you do not put a fake badge on it.

So IKON motorsports makes a rear M2 knockoff bumper for the F22:
https://www.amazon.com/Bumper-2014-2...t-items&sr=1-3 Now I was tempted for a very brief amount of time, because getting a diffuser to look good + having space for quad tips is kind of a pain, but in the end, I am pretty happy with just how my diffuser now looks. I feel like this might be too poseurish.

Problem is, at some point you'll pull up next to an M2 and it'll become apparent pretty quickly that it's an M240i that's trying too hard...😄
