Hello i leased an employee demo and noticed that the swirl scratches from washing it is kind of bad when i got it on delivery, especially the hood. Should the dealership wet sand or cut polish the car before delivery? Im going there today, since i also got the car with other damage upon delivery that they didnt fix but were supposed to. I didnt have my car for a week while they fixed the damage and when i got it back, it was less than half way repaired for all the paint damage. Now i complained and going back to the dealership for them to finish the other scratch damage (unrelated to the swirl scratches though)

Do you have a pic of the swirling? They may tell you to pound sand since its a demo turnover and not from factory new. I took a dealer demo over as well and it was pretty swirled up. Did some TLC with Mcguires Compound, Polish and Synthetic Wax and everything came out looking freshy new. Get a good orbital polisher too so you don't just exasperate the issue trying to buff out the scratches by hand. Made that mistake before! lol.

The dealership i got the car from has really bad reviews and im scared to bring it back there now, especially to fix the paint damage they didnt fix last time. What should i do? The car had a door ding dent on both the driver side door and passenger, there was bad scratches and damage on the rear bumper from the employee backing into bushes (they only fixed it half way) rock chips, scratches on hood, paint swirls from washing, the inside gloss black trim was terribly scratched from what look like dog nails, and damage on the bottom on the front bumper from the employee driving over a curb even though the car has front sensors (i plan to install a lip). I complained and said the person driving the car before me should be fired for trashing it. i also installed a new spoiler, mirror caps, grille, and debadged. Will they complain to me for modifying the car? Its ok as long as i revert back to the original upon return of the lease right?

Any document the dealer gave you describing what reconditioning they will do and a time frame ?

your mods aren't significant enough to cause issue as long as you bring back to stock. Do you have an IOU paper in your lease docs that note the repairs still outstanding?

As long as the swirls and scratches can't be felt with a finger nail, they can be buffed out.

I'd have them knock off a few hundred bucks and fix it myself or don't take the car at all.

If it were me, I'd buy a $75 Harbor Freight DA polisher, a few high quality orange cutting pads and attachment, some light cutting polish, microfiber towels, and an easy to apply wax/sealant and take pride in knowing you did it yourself. Given your experience so far, I'd imagine they'd make things worse if they buffed out the car.

As for the interior trim, I'd find a used gloss black, aluminum, or dry CF set and swap it out.

This isn't going to be all the helpful, but for next time you specify the fixes required to EVERYTHING before signing the sales agreement. Include dings, scratches, paint swirls, ect. It can't hurt to ask them to fix.

Bring it to quality detailer. I wont even let a dealer touch my paint with a wash as they are never up to par, nor do they care.

Most dealers hire cheap detailers to save a buck! I would highly recommend looking for a professional paint correction specialist who can correct all swirl marks and possibly apply a ceramic coating that will last 1 - 10 years to protect the paint from oxidation and scratches
