Thank you. I have to remind myself that any softness I still feel in Comfort mode (and I am still glad to have this option, for when my wife drives the car, for example) is due to the much greater throttle lag, which of course Shockware does not address.

Well I must make sure my dealership will not make a fuss, which is unlikely as it is a Dinan shop itself. And since I own the car, and it's a small, very over-achieving turbocharged engine, I will need to be as sure as possible that the Stage 1 will not stress out the engine and shorten its life. I think the car is in good hands with Dinan, however.

That's the official response I received today from Dinan regarding their Shockware software.
"Shockware for the M235i may never be available to be honest. BMW has changed the algorithm / encryption on the suspension ECU on the M235i / M3/M4 so we have been relegated to develop shockware from scratch again. To date we have been unsuccessful. We continue to attempt to try but we may be forced to go with our own plug and play EDC shocks instead." |

Dinan_Engineering any updates on this? Unless I'm missing it, I don't see Shockware listed on the Dinan website for the M235i. Did you guys give up on this or is it released (and I'm missing it), or still coming?
Very interested. |

Never made. M235i rates ended up being already at the upper levels of what we would firm them up to. If we increased them even more the stress induced on the factory shocks would lead to a higher likliehood of failure / premature failure to so it was abandoned on the platform.

That is interesting but confusing. DINAN has shockware for the 2017+ M240. I can see it on web site and spoke to DINAN last week. I also had an aborted appointment to have it installed on My M240 at an Atlanta (BMW) dealer last week, who proportedly was experienced . Aborted because they said the laptop they had DINAN files on had issues and desktop IT was on vacation (wasted 4 hours of my life). But have an appointment tomorrow with another dealer .
I thought EDC and springs on M240 and M235 were the same. The implication from DINAN is that they are not the same based on post above Here is a link DINAN site : M240 shockware https://www.dinancars.com/products/s...arts/D906-3001 |
