VRSF or AA DP?
Hi, I'm running bm3 stage 1 93 octane right now, and I am thinking of getting a catted DP and going stage 2.
The VRSF high flow is 500$ right now and the one from AA is going for 1400$. What's the difference between the 2 and is it worth paying 1k more for the AA dp? thanks. |

Active Autowerke uses GESI cats that are EPA approved.
GESI cats do not throw a check engine light even if the car is in stock. The cheaper brands will. Please note, that even if you have a tune that hides the check engine light, your car will fail emission testing if you are not using approved cats.

Lol - drive a car that was close to $50k when new - but hesitant to spend $1400 on a DP - so now you have to try to get past emissions somehow. Sell it and buy a Kia.

if you want a 100% guarantee, get GESI or HJS cats

Performance is the same with high flow catted and catless, especially on the stock turbo. Catless: cheap, fuel smell, emission problems catted: no check engine light, deeper mid range tone and no fuel smell

also, $1400 is retail and not necessarily the best price you can get it for

I've said it before - 99% of the people on here who think catless makes dramatically more power, cannot drive well enough to use the negligible gains. Even BMW race cars have hi flow cats, so really the whole catless thing is cost and sound.
I have nothing against Kia BTW - they're just not exciting to drive.

I'm currently debating on getting tuned and the only thing holding me back from stage 2 is the potential cost of upgrading my clutch. That being said, I would never get a vrsf. I've seen pictures of cats imploding. My choices would be AA, Wagner or CG.

VRSF DownPipes with Warranty
The title might be confusing but I have extended bumper to bumper warranty on my car. I called my dealer about going full stage 2 which includes (VRSF DP, Catch CAN, CAI, XHP stage 3 tune, MG Flasher Stage 2 tune). He said he would ask the shop foreman what would be voided in my warranty etc. For now, I am just gonna start with stage 1 MG Flasher with CAI to play the safer option.
Has anyone ran into similar issues? |

if anything can cause warranty issues, it's the tuner. If you are worried about your warranty, you should wait before getting an MG flasher. DP, catch can, intake will not cause any warranty issues as they do not add any stress on other car components. With that being said, your warranty is no affected even with a tuner as long as you are not asking them to fix a repair caused by your tuner.
