I guess it was at the port / VDC for 4-5 days. I do think it's going to the dealer now. Would line up with the dealer's ETA. It seems that the BMW tracking site re-uses some of the statuses (ex. in transit, at the port).

Thanks! Yeah the cerium grey wheels look a lot nicer in person than in any photos I was able to find. They kind of have a matte finish, which I like.

I honestly don't know as I use an Android phone. While the '2' is listed as compatible, I have a suspicion that it's the 2 grand coupe. I could be wrong, but if the feature is tied to iDrive 7.0, then the 2 coupe won't have it.

Oh on a side note - anyone know if the m240i has a compass in the rearview mirror? I don't see it on mine and the little hole at the bottom of the mirror doesn't seem to actually house a button inside.

I got a 228i Grand Coupe today as a loaner and it has the better iDrive system and larger display. Too bad they didn't include that in the M240, but then the grand coupe dives like crap compared to the M240. I can't get out of it as the B pillar cuts me off if I have the seat in a comfortable position.

Yeah, the 2 grand coupe is based on the X1 which isn't the roomiest car in the world. My dad had a 2017 X1 xDrive28i M Sport and it a) rode stiff and b) was a bit cramped. We rented an X2 during a trip and that was even smaller.

Does the xDrive help mitigate that FWD feeling?

I can live with some of the tech stuff not being there (despite having everything in my '18 A4), but BMW should have at least included blind spot monitoring. It's not that big a deal in a smaller car like this, but if you're going to include lane keep and frontal collision, etc why stop there.

I expected BS monitoring as well but looked at the mirrors on the way to the dealer today and when the adjacent car was out of the mirror view I could see it clearly in the side window so like you said not that big a deal in the M240. Not a very big blind spot if at all and the convertible has a small back window.

Congrats on the car. I actually picked up a 2021 not too long ago (one of the few dozen or so here in the US.) When I was looking, there were only 5 new 2021's M240 xDrives within a 200 mile radius of me; and only 1 in the color I wanted (8 in the entire country.) Fortunately, I was able to grab it at a decent price.

I do kinda wish my car has BSM (my old Miata did and that was the size of a shoe box in comparison lol.) It's not a huge deal, but I was more surprised it wasn't standard on the X1/X2; my wife owns a '20 X2 xDrive. The X2 is FWD-biased car, and it drives like that. For my wife, that works fine as its mostly an A-to-B vehicle for her.

That red interior looks sweet. My onlyyyyyyy gripe with my car, is the lack of Android Auto. I knew that going in, but I've been trying to hammer that home on every review I've been asked to fill out lol.

Android Auto will likely be there for the next 2. I have discovered that hooking up an iPod Touch enables iDrive access to Spotify and Amazon Music interface. Meaning, the icons show up under media. I can play Tidal and it shows track info and album art as well, but I cannot browse playlists. So it's a lossless solution I can live with. Otherwise, just have an SSD hooked up for my FLAC music. Since they removed the aux in, glad this solution works for streaming services.

Just picked up my m240i this afternoon. Placed the order on 9/19 and got it today. To my surprise there was another $1k rebate. But I have to finance it. No big deal as I will pay it off in a few months.

Reading through all the booklets that came with the car this "BMW ultimate care scheduled maintenance program" is supposed to cover 36 months / 36K miles whichever occurs first.

The items covered are: engine oil / filter, brake fluid(replacement), cabin microfilter, remote control key battery, engine air filter, spark plugs.

Items that are not covered are: brake pads / discs, parking brake shoes/linings, windshield blades, engine drive belt, and manual transmission clutch assembly.

Now, my understanding is BMW will perform one oil change at 10k miles for free. I was not aware nor told about this program.

Can anyone chime in on whether this maintenance program exists?

I didnt feel like haggling out the price of the car (ie. agreeing on the price of the car and then arguing about misc fees, the Resistall package, etc etc), so I negotiated only out the door. I didnt trade in anything and used my own financing.

I paid $48K OTD.
Maryland has a 6% sales tax, so I'm guessing the car (before tax, titles, and misc fees) was around $44.8K (would need to double-check the paperwork.) This was in early November 2020.

Thanks! I believe I paid ~$4k below MSRP, which tracked with what I saw on True car for my area.
