Denver winter wheel help

Hey all -

Im moving out to Denver next summer, and I'm in the process of buying winter wheels for my RWD m235i. Any opinions on what is the best bet for the Denver roads in winter - performance winters or studless?

I think good all seasons are acceptable, like Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus or Michelin Premier A/S. But I haven't used dedicated winters yet. If I did Michelin makes some fantastic winter tires.

I spent last winter driving a RWD M235i on a square set of 17" Blizzak LM-32 tires and could not have been happier. I picked a winter tire that would provide better dry road performance instead of maximum snow traction because I rarely need to drive if it's snowing out, but I did get caught out in a few storms, and the Blizzaks were very sure footed. Between the dedicated winter tires and the impressive traction control system in the BMW, I felt confident driving through adverse weather questions, particularly when driving through the mountains, which can be treacherous on the wrong tires.

I think you could get by with good all-season tires if you try to avoid driving during bad weather and driving intelligently when you are out on bad roads, but a dedicated winter tire will be the safer choice.

My snow tires are made by Toyota, the 2001 4Runner model :P
