Just purchased mine in March from CarMax. It was delivered to my house!

2016 BMW 228i xDrive Convertible
25k miles
$24,998 + $100 transfer fee
Convenience package, cold weather package, technology package, leather, and upgraded wheels.

Still had the wind deflector which is outrageously expensive to replace.

Hi there! First time posting -- just joined the BMW family yesterday after many years without a car, but borrowing my friend's E90 LCI 330i during the pandemic awoke something in me and after combining that with some mild early mid-life crisis, here I am lol.

Since I'm a car shopping newbie I figured I'd go with CPO to minimize variance -- I'm OK with not getting the best deal if I don't end up with a lemon. I went through a stressful couple months trying to learn about the car buying process and hunting for inventory (it seems like CPO M240i listings seldom make it a week without getting snatched up) and almost got burned flying down to SoCal to check out a model that the dealer gave away to another buyer after I submitted my credit application, but eventually I found one that isn't quite what I was looking for at first but probably just what I need:

2017 M240i automatic coupe
$33,499 (sticker MSRP $50,475)
31,490 miles, minor scratch on the front bumper but otherwise very good shape, CA-only
Alpine White / Oyster Dakota leather
Premium package, driver assistance package, navigation system, CarPlay, wireless charging
CPO warranty runs through first half of next year

Other than the mileage being a little higher than I'd prefer for the price point, I definitely focused on Estoril Blue or Long Beach Blue at the beginning of my search but white opened up the available inventory (relatively speaking) and it's honestly growing on me, I might not even wrap it after all besides those side view mirrors. I also seriously considered the convertible (especially in light of it discontinuing for 2022) since I actually live somewhere I could use it 75% of the year, but this is how things landed and I'm pretty happy with it (sorry I only have a dealer photo at the moment).

Ant, great info. Thank you very much!
So get this 60, got an email from Carvana saying values were rapidly increasing and I should submit my car for an updated appraisal. I did, and got an offer of $38,194. That's almost 3k higher and well over what I owe. I just couldn't pass it up so tomorrow I say goodbye to my much loved 240. It's been a great all around car but looking to fill my garage with something a little more focused.
Same experience. My 2015 228i M-Sport with Track Pkg and most options ($47,500 MSRP) sold for $21800. Only had 30,600 miles but was $4000 more than CarMax and $5,000 more than Trade In.

No hassle at all. Just filled out appraisal online. Received offer and dropped it off along with title and copies of driver licenses!
Not bad at all. I keep checking their site waiting for my 240i to pop up. Their prices are pretty high so it will be interesting to see what they sell it for.
Just to bring this full circle, took a couple of weeks for my M240i to show up on Carvana's site. Only lasted 1/2 a day before they slapped the "Purchase Pending" label on it. Two days later the car was no longer on their site. It was listed for $39,900.

I can't believe how slim the margins are at Carvana compared to a typical dealer. It's probably because they make a little on the car, more on the financing and whether or not folks opt for their extended warranty.

That is surprising, I would expect them to make a bit more than that! I suppose multiply that by the many hundreds of cars they probably sell nationwide every day and it makes sense.

Agreed 100% 60. From what I can tell, they are trying to disrupt the used car market and how people buy used cars. Take a look at their Facebook page. Reading through the comments, there are more than a few comments from smaller used car dealers pissed off at them. They are basically accusing Carvana of overbidding at Manheim to outbid everyone else.

I sold my '20 230i X Drive 'vert to Carvana for almost $39K, saw it on their website @ $42K 2 days later. Seems like they just get 'em in/move 'em out and make it up in volume. Mine was gone from their site in less than 5 days......

Similar experience. Sold my 2015 228i M Sport with 32,000 miles for $21,800 to Carvana. Trade was $16k and CarMax was $17. It sold in one day for $22,900. I was thrilled.

Another

Another on line dealer similar to carvana is Vroom.com
I bought two cars from and sold them one. Fair prices for very nice cars.
I was totally happy with both cars and both deals. I look on their site often and have noticed they don’t have inventory they used to. Cars are selling.
