Sleep deprivation does HORRIBLE things to the mind. If the baby falls asleep during the ride, the parents can be barely-awake zombies. My wife drove to the sitters. No noise, couldn't figure out why she was at her aunt's house, drove to work. Kid made a noise when she got out and reality set back in, so she had to drive back to her aunt's.
