m240i depreciation

Hi All,

Been looking to snag an m240i for a while. Anyone think these will depreciate heavily over the next year?

Thanks!

I think year would be helpful here.

A 2019-2020 will depreciate a lot in a year. A 2018 will depreciate less. A 2017 will depreciate even less. The first 3 years is when cars lose the majority of their value, then it tapers off.

the 2017 m240i I just bought had a bunch of options when new, stickered at 59500.

BMW Dealer had it listed at 34900, certified, with 33,500 miles.

I considered ordering a new one but 34 is A LOT cheaper than 59. Still had factory warranty left and the one year additional of warranty with being certified.

Hope this helps

We purchased a brand new 2019 M240 two years ago, and we want to switch it to a daily SUV. With a damage report, the quote from Carmax is 25K. So we decide to keep it forever, and sell my F80. Our only 15k miles on it, and it only worth half of the car price now.

I got my 2017 m240i xDrive in estoril blue ii/oyster sensatec, tech package, hk audio, cold weather with 306xx miles in August of 2019 for $31k. Just a data point for this discussion.

The 335is is a good proxy to predict future value. 30-40k miles on 2017/2018s should stay around 25k, and higher mileage models will creep into high teens / 20k and 100k miles models 15k.
