Which exhaust set up?
This has prob been on here a bunch, but there isn't much about armytrix or akrapovic.
Here's what I'm looking at midpipe and exhaust wise: Armytrix - was told it's too raspy, but I love unnecessarily loud pops and burbles Akrapovic - used to be the gold standard for BMW, and love the look. Not too many people have this. Remus - top choice right now, I'm told you can't go wrong and that it sounds amazing... However, I hear with the nonresonated midpipe it drones on the highway Dinan - heard it's not loud enough MPE - heard it's not much different than the stock set up on sport+ |

Remus is great ! If you go non-resonated route then yes there will be drone. It is personal, some will say there is not much drone some will say there is a lot. I personally find it acceptable but I dont drive the car on long highway trips.

may go remus resonated... Is it still significantly louder than the stock? Can't find much videos online that are res, but my local performance shop tells me it's the way to go

I have a Remus with Dinan midpipe, so no resonators and a CG Precision 200 cell DP. It's awesome.
I honestly think there is a general miscommunication that comes with the use of the word "drone". There is genuine drone (shitty and tinny sound or reverberation type acoustics you get when putting a fart can on your Honda) and then there is "hearing your exhaust". On the highway I hear my exhaust. But I didn't do all these modifications so I couldn't. So to me it's not drone. A non resonated Remus is not going to give you drone. It's going to allow you to hear a mean ass growl when you go full hoon. The resonator is merely going to just provide you with a different sound and ability to hear the exhaust at different times. I personally prefer no res but if I was catless I might have gone that route. All 3 choices are top quality exhausts so I don't think you can go wrong either way. |

I have the Remus resonated with the AA catted downpipe - love it. Noise on the outside when I want it - and no drone or drowning out the radio inside.

I spent $500 on the Dinan midpipe and install. Stock exhaust. So, just a duel resonator delete. I get constant compliments on the sound. For $500, I wouldn't change a thing.

If you're worried about drone go with AWE full catback exhaust. I'm sure a non resonated Remus will not drone that much since it has a muffler. Muffler deletes cause drone at lower speeds.

I went AWE catback - and it sounded great - but drone was annoying once I replaced my downpipe with a hi-flow catted DP. I switched up to resonated Remus cat back.

Remus non-res sounds great, I have the valve welded open with stock cats

Replaced my 2017 m240i MT stock with Dinan Mid and and axle back exhaust (bought both off forum members). Great sound, no drone throaty, deep notes when driving modestly and at highway speeds. Agressive, head turning volume when mashing the gas with intoxicating pops/burbles between shifts. Had option of AWE exhaust (local to shop) and Dinan. Very happy with Dinan choice.
