Spark plug check
I was having an issue with my car saying it was running lean. Prior to this I had a boost leak that was making my car run rich then I had my boost leak fixed. The lean code eventually went away but sometimes at idle my car will have some weird hiccup where it seems like a misfire, but I don't receive any misfire code so I was thinking maybe a bad spark plug? I pulled my spark plugs out to see if they were bad. They are the 97506 ngk gapped at .022 with only 6k miles on it. Can anyone tell me if they are in need of replacement or if anyone can diagnose what my problem may be?

Maybe try switching back to OEM plugs and see if that resolves the issue. Also, try not to run extra boost if you are and see if it goes away.

These cars are very picky about plugs. I've also noted a lot of people reporting misfires and issues when running smaller plug gaps.
What power mods do you have? |

I am fbo but I'm running a stock intake and the spark plug gap I have on my ngk plugs is .022. I have the stage 2 93 octane tune from bootmod3.

May be carbon...?
OP,
I just had my plugs replaced with OEM @ 77K miles. I was late in doing this maintenance and had the plugs but no time; my local trusted indie put them in for me while was away on travel last week along while performing a full fluid replacement on my car, which I had scheduled. After replacing my plugs, the mechanic noted a #3 cylinder miss-fire and called me to ask if the car was missing and throwing a code prior to drop-off, which it was not. Swapping the plugs with the old ones, different ones and the ones I purchased did nothing. It turned out the #3 fuel injector was encased in carbon build-up and he had to do a full intake cleaning to clear the codes and clean up the fuel injectors. He saw a similar situation on a M235 with 30K (miles) on it that he serviced about 6 months ago. You may want to check to see what kind of carbon buildup you have, this is not uncommon with direct injection engines like the N55 and B58; this may explain the issues you are seeing. Good luck.
