2016 M235 Belt Tensioner /Engine Sound
I replaced the accessory belt, tensioner and idler pulley 4000 miles ago. Changed my oil yesterday and car sounded crappy to my ear. Tensioner seems to be moving quite a bit from when I initially installed. Thinking I can check torque? I did it to spec in Aug. Any advice appreciated. Let me know if I need to link the video differently

Normal. The spring-loaded tensioner is designed to move a bit and when the A/C is engaged, it moves far more because of the increase drag of the A/C compressor. Turn the A/C on an off and watch how much more the tensioner arm moves. My original tensioner moved and I replaced it at 60K miles. The replacement tensioner moved just as much 500 miles later.
When the tensioner arm is really moving around wildly is when it should be replaced. Unless the torque on the tensioner bolts were crazy loose, it's not going to influence tensioner arm movement. The sound you noted doesn't appear concerning either. My alternator has always had a bit of whine to it with the hood up.

Thanks, makes me feel better. Bolts were still same torque. Car drives the same no power loss and no loss of AC cooling. Minimal movement now, that sound was probably there all along and I never noticed.
