Not sure what’s next for me. In my opinion, BMW has been making so many aesthetic design mistakes lately that I can’t fall in love with many of the newer cars like I have the F22.

I’d only be interested in G42 but it looks like straight garbage so most likely a G22 440i but I still hate that grille so it’s hard to drop 60k+ on something I don’t absolutely love…

If I truely can’t decide, maybe another F22 could be in the cards… we’ll just have to see 👍

Glad you're OK, that's number 1. There are alot of good, low mileage F22s out there if that's what you want.

Glad to hear you walked away from it. Sure hurts to see an F22 in that condition, but at least you're okay. Hope you find a worthy replacement.

I am with you on BMW's current design choices. There isn't a whole lot that interests me of theirs at the moment. We are just lucky they have a great back catalog. . .

I was turning left crossing two lanes of traffic on my way home after work. I had flashing yellow arrow, the light turned solid yellow and I determined the truck that was heading toward me was way too far back to make the light and figured he would stop so I went. Funny story about the center console. I too was curious what broke it all apart.

I have a dash cam that records the interior so after I watched the accident in slow motion, I saw that my whole body, extremely violently, swung to the passenger side… Within two frames, my right shoulder and head hit the seat bottom of the passenger seat before I recoiled back upright. So my body is what smashed the center console! Before watching the video I thought I was upright the entire time with just some sideways whiplash.

It’s scary how much force is induced in a crash like that

Yes, and now imagine those who carry their dogs loosely/unrestrained on the back seat or even front seat! It both gets injured from being thrown around and becomes a missile that can hit your head.

I do have dash cams but not looking to post the videos at this time. I’ll just say, it definitely rung my bell but could have been much worse.

The car took it like a champ and kept me alive.

I did however take a few more pics today at the body shop. Of course they totaled the car so now just waiting to see what I’ll get for it.

I installed new front struts this summer which was snapped off and you can see the front axle has been broken in half.

Car market sucks up here lol. Everybody thinks their stuff is gold.

There’s actually a guy here right now trying to sell the exact same car as mine for 35k (down from 38k) when it’s worth 25-28 at most.

I'm guessing the cost of driving or transporting a car from the Lower 48 to Fairbanks is a fairly significant addition to the purchase price.

These are some transport quotes from Minneapolis to Fairbanks. I used Shiply. It didn't ask about open vs. enclosed trailer, so I'm assuming open. No idea if these quotes are typical or not, but OP probably knows.

Most people up here that buy cars out of state will have them trucked to Seattle or near and have them put on a barge and shipped up that way. 2-3k or so for the barge plus whatever it costs to get the car there.

I've never been to Alaska (but I've been to the other 49). Would be an epic road trip from Seattle.
