Back to the control arms - no noticeable change through the steering wheel? I was hoping to hear of improved steering feedback.

The steering hasn't changed. Sorry. Personally I feel good about steering feel already.

Probably depends on the alignment. Unless you zero out the toe you might lose some steering feel

I zeroed out the toe and turn is quicker. Car feels lighter but a little twitchy. Next alignment I will probably add a tiny bit of toe in up front. Otherwise this is a great mod to add camber and steering response. Very little to no understeer unless you blow the corner entry.

What jordantii said...I have 1/16th toe in front to make the car more settled. It hurt turn-in a tiny bit but makes the car more livable for daily driving.

So i have a couple of concerns with my install of the LCA's. Since the install of the LCA's, on long sweeping turns where i had no problem before, my TCS light now flashes at me when turning hard, i dont feel any under steer but i still have the TCS light flashing. Im not sure if this is normal.

I also feel that the car is a bit harder to control when changing lanes at highway speeds, im not sure how to describe it, but when changing lanes i now need to be careful not to turn to far and end up wandering to far, it gives me a bit less confidence in changing lanes. This i think might be caused by my alignment though as i have factory spec toe out, i'll see if i can find a place to zero my toe and hopefully that fixes it

Another problem that started happening is i now sometimes get a hard thunk when reversing with the wheel fully turned to one side, it feels as if im hitting a curb even though im nowhere near one. I cant tell if maybe its just the front tires slipping from cold tires or wet roads while im reversing, or its something wrong. I have checked to see the wheels don't contact anything at full lock, i am running 10mm spacers on the front stock wheels. One thing i can think of is maybe i put them on wrong, was i supposed to put the suspension under load before tightening the bolts on the LCA's ? i installed them while on a two post lift with no load at all. Im thinking of getting the car onto a four post lift and loosening and tightening the bolts back up while under load. Hoping that fixs it

Might be that you have more oversteer now and that's why DTC light flashes

The clunck you feel is the front tire hopping specially if it's cold and the added camber probably makes it hop easier

You should definitely get the car aligned. The LCA will take your stock alignment all out of wack. I wouldn't drive the car a lot without an alignment

Has anyone ordered the LCAs from the dealership before? Since the CAD is crap right now, it makes more sense for me to get them locally.

My concern is, however, would they come with the ball join that will retrofit with the headlight sensors?

There are many vendors here selling these arms in a kit form with the correct parts.

M3/4 LCA on a F20 116/118i

I read BP thread and it's seem like it can be fix on the f20 rwd m135i which has a different control arm part number than a regular 116/118i.

The USA boys had the lower control arm fixed on a F22 228i and it shared the same part number as the 116/118i. So can I assume it can be fix on a regular f20 116/118I?

Last but not least, how much -ve camber increase we will get from the lower control arm.

Lower control arms add about an extra 1deg of negative camber to front wheels.

Compared to 116/118, Mx35i comes -0.5 swivel bearing housing as std which could be an upgrade to your car if you want to add less negative camber.

My car (m135i with lowered springs and M4 LCAs) is running -2deg which is about the most I would run on a road car.

Finally if running running 17" wheels or less, be careful to ensure that LCA upgrade will clear the inside edge of the wheel. No issues with 18" and above alloys.

Guys, need some guidance. Picked up the control arms and rod w/swivel ends. My understanding is the lower swivel end of the new rod replaces the stock end. Does the plastic end come off the rod? Not clear exactly on how the ends are "swapped"?

For those of you that have installed these has your tire wear changed (better or worse)? I'd expect outer tire wear to improve but suspect with higher caster (dynamic camber gain), increased SIA, and more scrub that the inner edges may wear faster.

Wear is much more even now.... also inner edges didn't wear faster cause I have zeroed the toe
