Parking Lamp Warning

2016 228i convertible. Getting a parking lamp failure warning but I have checked and there are no lights out. Everything is working. How can I turn off the warning?

Let me rephrase, how do I turn the warning off so I can see if it trips on again?

You need to clear the code with a scan tool or app.

Problem is not the bulb itself but a wiring issue many people have had to deal with, me included.

Take off your actual connector/plug from the assembly and take a look at both ends.

I can almost guarantee you there will be what looks like "burn" marks on very specific pin, brown wire connection (Ground Wire).

It's a know failure/weak point with a supplemental wire addition fix available from bmw. Check within forum for other threads regarding ground wire fix for more info.

Post photos if you want for others to review and provide insight.

I checked my connection today, no burn marks at all, 70,000km. I put a very small amount of dielectric grease on the pins

Well, the warning went away by itself. I haven't had a chance to look at the connections yet.

Warning came back and I finally got around to checking it out. Turned out to be a front parking light bulb.
