Early Christmas

Unfortunately no I didn't stumble upon a large sum of money and buy every mod that I've wanted.

I installed my JB4 about a week ago. I was super excited, because as I turned my car on for the first time no CEL. O2 sensor and MAF senor codes had been cleared.

In was enjoying the extra power for about a week, (roughly 50-100 miles)until I got another CEL yesterday. I immediately opened the JB4 app and Torque Pro to find the fault codes lit up like a Christmas tree.

This morning I uninstalled the JB4 before work and still had the codes.

They pretty much all seem to be sensor related codes that are pending. I am wondering if maybe the codes need 50 miles or so before the can decide if they are legit or not.

Anyone else know if that is how sensor codes work? Anyone familiar with any of these codes or have any clue as to what was wrong?

Just wondering if you deleted the codes after you removed JB4 and then popped the same fault codes again after driving around? Is the engine light on and acknowledging fault?

Engine light is still on and it shows the o2 sensor in green as a historic fault. Then the other ones are "pending" whatever that means.

I did clear from both jb4 and torque pro.

I suggest you contact BMS, it is either a bad install (unlikely since it ran fine for 100 miles) , your firmware needs to be updated or just a bad Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor

I dont understand your reasoning

Bad install or bad firmware can happen with any product
If the cause was a bad sensor then it has nothing to do with the tune

Not sure how in this case Dinan would have been any better over the JB4

Maybe its from my lack of searching. I just dont seem to see many if any threads with issues with Dinan on the M235i. I see various issues and cel issues with other companies products. I haven't purchased any tune software before, but I certainly want the best product out and one that has a great warranty. So far Dinan looks like the one that meets that for me. I know jb4 is a less expensive tune and a bit of bias cause you push that product.

Uninstall the Jb4 from all sensors, clear codes, and see if any of them come back....

Did you happen to install a downpipe and swap the O2 sensor wires ?

Did you check the seating on all the JB4 harness plugs ?

If you connect with the USB interface to the Jb4 does it respond normally and provide normal logging output ?

Have you tried updating to the latest JB4 EWG firmware?

I've had mine for installed for about 15,000 miles... 10,000 i did all map1, then i installed a catless DP, and switched to map2. I have done about 5 track days (HDPE's) and i have had zero CEL's.. Unfortunately my brake pads have felt the extra boost

Yes DINAN is Dinan, but there is no substitute for the JB4. It is a great value tune for HP/$ ratio with great support and logging. I doubt you will find a forum for the Dinan tunes with a ton of people offering to check out logs to assist with validating your install and make sure your JB4 is working up to far (n54tech.com)... Did you ??

I agree with Mike here.

I am not upset with BMS I'm just going to do a little more digging and reinstall and try it again. I have also just started talking with Terry @bms.

I am sure I will get it sorted out.

Also if you dig deep enough you will find that every tune has had its hiccups. Even Dinan. A couple people have gotten chassis malfunction codes with Dinan

Basically you run the risk of throwing a code with any tune. You just have to decide if it's worth it to you.

Just last week there were 2 threads with Dinan tune having issues ... This is not a post against Dinan this is just me pointing that although it is rare any tune can have isssues

You see more issues with JB4 than other tunes because on the forums JB4 sells more than all the other tunes combined
