JB4 Map 6 Results

Had car in at local tuner (Performance Centre) yesterday for fitment of a Richter 200 cell sport cat running in combo with the stock exhaust. Had JB4 stage 2 installed previously and had been running Map 5 on the stock cat.

M235i RWD 8AT

Edit: Running 97 ron (93) fuel

Dyno Results (converted to crank hp):

Stock - 316 hp/330 ft-lb
Map 2 (stock cat/winter tyres) - 349 hp/ 381 ft-lb
Map 5 (sport cat) - 375 hp/ 440 ft-lb
Map 6 (sport cat) - 400 hp/ 417 ft-lb

Wheel hp conversions beneath graph.

Car feels and sounds great. Running Map 6 currently, very smooth and linear power delivery. Traction is still an issue with stock tyre widths (PSS) but pulls incredibly hard all the way to redline. Charge pipe hasn't been an issue (yet) - will swap to metal one if it breaks ofc. Intake air temps are stable around 25C max so don't think intercooler is an issue for me either for road driving.

Link below is to a video of my car with the Richter 200 cell cat vs another 235i with the Richter decat in the same environment both cars with stock exhaust. Very good sound comparison!

I believe it peaks at a 16psi target, which is pretty much what map 5 was targeting on its runs, only lower down the rpm range.

Tesco 99 or vpower depending where you are will probably get you more. I've had map5 targeting 17-17.5psi on just tesco 99, usually though it's about 16-17ps herei in North London. It does seem to depend a lot on where you are though as recently as trip to south Wales only yielded 14-14.5psi on T99 as ethanol content seems to vary considerably.

Were these results with the JB4 EWG hooked up? I have similar setup w/sport cat but using AA8 tune and was thinking about JB4, but sounds like EWG wires are a real pain to get to.

Thanks

EWG isn't bad if you have a long flat head screwdriver. If you can find one about 1.5 feet long you'll be good.

I used a VERY long socket extension to get to mine. Flat head would have been easier. Should only take a few minutes with the right tool.

Yes, the EWG wires are installed. Didn't fit them myself though so can't comment on how tricky they are to get to. Although i have heard they are a pain due to the location. Map 5 seems to target higher boost with them fitted once its been acclimatised with some WOT runs in 3rd.

Guess it depends on which angle you approach from. I went straight down from the top.

No way I could get my hands down there with a stubby.
