Did anyone encounter a problem where you can't fully insert the two forward-most plastic rivets on both sides because there is the metal frame very close behind the plastic body work?

There are shorter rivets for those points.

Thanks for the advice. I picked up some 3/8" aluminum rivets and was able to do the two front most locations with them.

Hi guys, great install thread, I can see still providing value after 4 years.
I bought the side blades and took both out the boxes..... now I cant tell which one goes on which side? ) they both seem to line up.... please help One end of the blade has an extra piece of 3M about 2 inches long... does that go at the front or the rear of the car when attaching? |

Thanks to DrPooManchu. I took a simpler route. DrPoo - I appreciate your meticulous method. What I did was to clean the install area with Griots carwash soap, then again with Griots spray on carwash untill there was no dirt, tar, etc. Then, I used 3M adhesive promoter ( Amazon : #M Adhesive Promoter 4298 pack of 5 for about $15). I used 2 promoter wipes on each side. Then I dry fit a blade. I removed the double sided tape then put the blade in place. I did this by myself, no issues. The tape adheres almost instantly, no blue tape needed. It cured very hard in 45 minutes. Then I drilled and installed the pop rivets. 2 hours by myself. I left the blades matte black on my Glacier Silver 2017 Vert. The Front and rear spoilers, Read M diffuser and all reflectors are painted Glacier silver also. I think the blades look good black, coordinating with the M Perf rocker decal. I really doubt the plastic rivets are needed though, the tape is very impressive!
