2019 bmw m240ix stock.. when holding down traction button to turn off dsc' what mode does it go into? I'd like to have a stiffer suspension setup while in dsc off. also forbthe autocrossers what mode do u guys all run in? how much front camber can we get out of the front suspension and is rear camber adjustable? whats the best alighnment setup for autox. sorry for all the random questions

awesome thanks. so whats the difference between normal engine mapping vs sport? if I autox with dsc off I get normal engine mapping. also what is the e-diff aka adb sport?

I'll let others answer these questions.

For the first one, I don't know. For the second, I'm not clear how BMW chose to make an open differential mimic a limited slip differential. I imagine it's by using the rear brakes, but I don't know for sure.

Yes, the ABS system is used a the e-LSD. Basically, it pulses the accumulator of the slipping wheel to transfer power to the other wheel.

AFAIK, there is no difference in the engine mapping for sport modes, it just changes the throttle response (I think you get about 80% of WOT with the first 10-20% pedal travel); perhaps some alterations to cooling cycles or aux power systems, but no more Hp/Tq. This goes back to linear for DSC-off, because that is preferred by serious track'ers. The advice I've gotten for this is that it is best to leave it in Sport+ until you really start to out-drive the car (i.e. if it is activating DTM much, you need to improve your driving), but this was for track, not AutoX. At least until you burn down the first set of rear brake pads . The answer to front camber is either 'none' or 'not enough' - I don't think it is adjustable w/o an add-in eccentric bolt, at least in front. Expect to either buy tires or camber plates if you run a lot of events (I find the Potenza s007 to be much better for this than the Conti's were, likely d/t better sidewall/carcass, and still good in wet on the street). Also, my experience has been that these cars are quite sensitive to unsprung weight and tire pressure variations (valuable gains to be made here), and the stock tires would really like rims at least a half inch wider if that doesn't alter your class standing.

Thanks – that's more or less what I'd imagined. BMW was doing something along these lines as far back as the E46s, and it wasn't uncommon on short, twisty tracks like Loudon for overly-aggressive drivers to use up a set of rear pads in a weekend.
